    Watford have completed a deal for versatile young Real Madrid midfielder Fran Montavez.

    The 19-year-old, who spent seven years in the Spanish giant’s youth system, has spent several weeks on trial with the Golden Boys and has featured for the Hornets’ Under-21 side.


    He signed a deal with the Hornets this week after his agent, Egoitz Basurto, agreed terms with Watford.

    According to Spanish paper AS, Quique Sanchez Flores’ presence at Vicarage Road is believed to be a significant factor in Montavez’s decision to swap the Spanish capital for Watford

    Am I right in thinking that he cant play for us because we have already submitted our list of 25 ?

    So this is to try and bring on the Young home grown players ? But you can bring in under 21 how will that help ?
