His contract's a problem, I've seen enough to extend it to maybe 4 years to scare of any interested parties.
Smithy, don't worry about losing Gus. If we go down, he's the man to bring us back and I'm sure the club, and ES know that. In Gus we trust, not just now but for the next 3-4 years at least.
Just thinking if the worst does happen will Gus stay?? Cause I'm sure he would get offers to stay in the prem!! Your right mate we need a ****ing long term contract in place, cause he's destined for the very top IMO.
Would he see that as a step up tho? At the minute I guess but looking at the bigger picture, surely were a bigger pull then Swansea.
We should keep him regardless of our league and cup status, the club desperately needs stability right now and I've seen enough from Gus so far to suggest that he is the man for the job. I would gladly forfeit the cups if it meant securing our EPL status and firmly believe that given a couple or three transfer windows, Gus will deliver a squad capable of competing in this league. We've had an absolute **** run so far and he is working with a squad that has seen 3 managerial changes in as many years, we just need to steady the ship and start to build. Like you've already said, I hope we can keep hold of him.
Where has all this sudden concern if Poyet will stay or go come from? He took the job in the full knowledge we were relegation favourites so there have been no surprises. He wasn't a flighty manager at Brighton so why would he start now?
i think if you look at the shelf life of managers at the present, its almost certain he wont be here in four years time . sad fact but true
Other than that nofuss bloke I don;t think you'll find a single SAFC fan who wants rid of him. There's a few mags want us to get rid as he's turning the club around. Just hope that if we do go down we can keep hold of him
I like how he plays and it's great to see us playing football. These are not Gus's players. He needs time and hopefully short will give him that. If he keeps us up a lot depends on January transfers but I would say the odds are against him due to our toothless attack.
We only gave him a two year contract Cest. He's a talented man who will at some point out grow us. He'll be going into his last year in the summer. Makes sense to address it and offer him a new contract. Eliss' understandable caution has left a nice cheap buy out for any interested club.
you're gonna be playing Nottingham Forrest next season. The Swans will be in BPL - it's a no brainer if you think about it.
