Would you allow him to go? He's not getting into this team at the moment with Drury, Martin & Hyam playing so well. If Reading can share some of his wages as well I think it would be a Win Win! http://www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=20240&title=reading_linked_with_bullard_move
Let's just say the Hull fans couldn't have been more right. What a disgusting excuse for a human being
Don't know about this one, I haven't heard any bad reports about him, he does seem to pick the team up with his mannerisms and if something happens to Drury we need somebody with his vision, plus why let him go to reading if we do go on a run of results? On the other hand, do we really need somebody on 18k as back-up?
Its a nice quandry to have but on balance I think he should stay here as he will be needed at some point. Loss of form and injuries are bound to kick in at some point and Bullard still has that extra quality needed.
i think part of the problem was that he was being played in a defensive position at the start of the season so I'm not surprised he hasn't been as big of a hit as last year. i would much prefer to see him on the bench than leadbitter. drury and hyam to start with stevenson and bullard behind them is not a bad midfield at all!
I would rather we have him as back up than Leadboots! If something happened to Drury, then at least we have a good midfielder waiting to come in, and by the looks of it he is itching to play! I know we have Stevenson and Bowyer as well, but I don't think it would be wise to get rid of Bullard just yet!
Getting rid would be a big mistake in my eyes, watching Bullard celebrate our 3rd goal against Cardiff proves that the guy is totally commited to the cause. Not sure what has been wrong with Bullard, reports of a mystery bug etc but seems he may be over that, also as mentioned earlier, he was played out of position earlier in the season!! Lancs, bang out of order mate and if anyone is a disgusting excuse for a human being then it is yourself after a comment like that. How on earth you can come out with a statement like that is beyond me, why would you say such a thing? You have been very tetchy of late, best you take another break from this site and calm yourself down!!
Would possibly allow him to go if we had 24 hour recall in place. I cant agree that the Hull fans were right. He hasnt reached the heights of his loan period yet but he also hasnt been any poorer than any other player this season. When he was a first team regular it was the whole team that was at fault and not just JB. We havent seen anything of Stephenson yet and JB has to be above the captain when it comes to being added to the first team squad. Either way I wouldnt be too bothered I suppose
On balance i would sway with the majority, Like most people have said i would have him in before Leadtwat plus he does show that commitment that we are wanting from the players. Do you think we could get them to take leadtwat instead? that would be one team above of us not to worry about finishing above of us.
Afternoon chaps long time no type.... Good to see things haven't changed much, Our feathered friends are still chasing the dream We're still in the wrong half of the table And Spanish & Hampy are having a ding dong...... I'm with Spanish on this one. Bullard is going nowhere. Sending him out on loan is a non-starter for many reasons; We'll lose more than just cover for the midfield, he gives us more options. He's still quality so why should we help out Reading? They probably won't pay all his wages. It keeps Hyam & Drury on their game with Jimmy pushing them for a start. It would undoubtedly break the comeradery and spirit within the squad. With some of the decisions made this year I wouldn't be surprised, but upset... It's one more player ahead of Leadbitter & Bowyer.
How's it going mate? I've missed being on here as I've been working abroad etc... Things ITFC are certainly better now than the end of last year! Enforced changes or not, this team can hopefully make us proud. There are some good sounds coming out of PR lately despite the odd Clegg Up. Youthful players who seem to want to play for the club as well as themselves. King Klug coming back. Ticket price reductions. All we need is Cat 1 Academy status, a centre-back ffs and a bit more luck and we'll be well on the way. Also, WLH & Huckerby are still ****ers
Let him go, we should never have bought him in the first place. With the ball at his feet he is ok, good passing range. but sorry his legs have gone, in this division its important what you do off the ball, do not see him put in the effort when the opposition are attacking, very rarely does he pick up opposition midfield runners, we need midfielders with more a more complete agenda.
If we hadn't brought him in we would be playing in League 1. He DID pretty much save us single handedly. Short term memory or fickle .............?
You haven't lost any of that sharp wit! We have been at each others throats for most of the season especially during that 7 game losing streak. I have never drunk so much Gin! It's been one hell of a roller-coaster ride that's for sure but as Town fans we wouldn't have it any other way! I am still not convinced that Jewell is the right man to be manager. We told him for months that Dad's Army wasn't up to the job! Hyam, Drury and Martin have been awesome and I just hope that we offer Hyam a longer deal in the summer. Too late for the play-offs but I just want to enjoy some decent football now that we have a team that is beginning to play to its potential.
Yeah, it looks like this season has been a hard one to endure so far. Us Town fans have always been a divisive bunch. I do share your concerns about PJ but he does need to be given some slack. Yes he's made some strategic errors. Being out of the game for a couple of years doesn't help. His coaching team appears to be an old boys network. However, he's very likeable, seems to really like it here and his man management skills on the whole (bar Martin) seem good. His transfers have been hit and miss but I'd say more of the hit. Things will change at ITFC when our Olympic aspirations at board level have come and gone. We NEED at footballing person as a CEO not a sales director for corporate conference events. Our debt is a massive worry. £66m and counting. ME needs to make a statement about it as his previously stated plans have all gone tits up. We're a couple of injuries or mistakes from being gash again but 4 games unbeaten is a wonderful thing....
I agree about the third goal against Cardiff, he still has the other players onside. The fact is that he has been lacklustre to say the least since he signed that contract but before he signed it he was a revelation. But he hasn't moved to the area and commutes hundreds of miles. We could've had two Charlie Austins for the money he's on... I'm surprised more of you don't feel let down by him, or at least agree that he's contributed little and is chewing up the club's cash. Whether he goes to Reading or not... I bet you'll see him at his best if he's not in the comfort zone.
Nobody can dispute that because of his wage, name etc. we should expect more, but as always there are mitigating circumstances. The lack of form of team as a whole, playing out of position blah blah blah. Jimmy seems to WANT to play for ITFC, contrast that with Leadbitter........ herein lies the difference
Very well put BM. Clegg is the main problem and I just hope he ****s off after the Olympics have come and gone! Surely there's only so many turnstiles that need painting? Jewell if he stays just has to get rid of his old boys network who clearly aren't up to coaching at this level. If we get Klug back then things will definately be looking up. Yet another mid table finish beckons but I just hope that Jewell has finally learned from his many mistakes and works to a plan based on young hungry players in the summer!
Let's keep Bullard here, he's good back up for Martin or Drury and as many have said, a better option to have on the bench than Leadknob. Keeping him out of the team for a while has probably opened his eyes to the fact that although he has plenty of talent that doesn't make him an automatic pick. Just like Bowyer and Leadknob they have to try harder in training and be ready when they are called upon, a position they are not used to being in as they have always been first team regulars.
