Wouldn't of dropped Fryatt, we'll wait and see. Got a good chance to take points off them with key players out!

Burnsy just mentioned he considers their striker Simon Church a significant threat because he's scored 6 goals. Yet McLean with only two less is seen by most as a poor striker, purely due to that goals tally. Fine lines.

I'm glad we've made that change, McLean has scored 2 from midfield since Fryatt last scored (which was a penalty, and he hasn't even come close in the time since then)and had a third disallowed harshly. Also the goals McLean has scored have been proper striker's goals which suggest he can do it more often if given the chance.

It might be credible if it weren't Burnsy.

I know what you mean but it's something that's always confused me a bit. Fans make out as though every striker has to hit 20 goals a season or they're ****. But there's so much more to it than just the number of goals, and the number can be infuenced by so many things that it seems far too inconsistent to me. As with this example.

I'm not someone who thinks we even need one 20 goal a season striker (who was our last one, Elliott being a winger doesn't count), it's rarer than you'd think for promoted sides to have one, you tend to find they're playing for sides that don't get promoted because as the only good player in the team they get all the freekicks and penalties as well.

With this example you're comparing everyone else to Burnsy. Burnsy would consider Marney to be a serious goal threat to us, whilst we could have Messi and he'd be concerned that he doesn't play on the shoulder of the last defender all game.

    So basically you agree?

Sounds like we're being properly outplayed here. Had to happen some time I suppose.
