Looks like Reading could be without Liegertwood, McAnuff and Kebe this weekend. Reading Injuries?? We have no injury problems as RoKo has recovered from the dead-leg received against Posh. This is an opportunity for us to really cement a place in the Top 6. The down side is that a defeat could leaves us well out of the Top 6.
This game very much reminds me of West Brom away back in 2008 - win this like we did then at The Hawthorns and I really believe we can cement our place in the playoffs. Lose and we could be scrapping with a host of others for 6th spot.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16652925.stm Barmby says that King will be in the squad for the reading game too. He'll make the bench i think as we need an attacking option.
Actually i would prefer all 3 to play as they wont be 100% fit thats for sure. As its us it maybe that Reading take a chance with them. But if not and they are missing from the start then all well and good. I also expect City to win this game. It wont be easy but its more than winnable if city play anything like. Reading are weaker than last season and City much stronger. 3 points will not only cement us in the top 6 but with the next 3 games Very Very good ones (donny-home, pompey-away, brizzle-home) a top 2 place could well be Citys. Its looking good but now the hard work really starts. Barmby Army. UTT
On the bench, I'm not sure why we need Dudgeon and Cooper on the bench, it's unlikely that we'll have 2 injuries at the back, and there are players that can cover. I'd go with the same 11, and King onto the bench instead of Cooper.
I would agree. If the worst did happen to Hobbs and Chester then we can use Evans and Dudgeon there. At least NB has good options for the bench now. I wonder what Dele and Harper will be doing on saturday afternoon ?
Dudgeon should be starting in my opinion, but his flexibility (able to play LB, LM or on the wing) make him an absolute MUST on the bench. King will be there, of course as will Carson. We need CB cover so Cooper will be so I reckon it's a toss-up between Cairney and Brady for the last bench spot. I will go for Brady because we don't want to upset the feeder Club and we have enough flexibility on the pitch to cover any midfield injuries.
Legs & McAnuff are deffinately out. Kebe still has a chance of playinng, but it's 50/50. Should be a good game, but I think it'll be tight. Any of you guys coming down?
Oh yes. Really looking forward to an open and end to end game. Dont worry Nick Barmby wont be parking the bus and this could be a corker mate.
If those players are out for Reading then that gives us a boost for one of the toughest away games of the season. Still players we should be wary of and should be a good end to end game, wouldn't be suprised to see the same scoreline from the game at the Madejski last season (even though we haven't drawn since October 15th)
Agree about the bench, it's stupid setting aside 3 players you aren't going to use when you only have 5 places. If I had my way Dudgeon would be playing left back and his bench spot would be taken by a player we might actually use.
We had a good turnout last time. We are a different team now, should be good. There's no rivalry except the natural one between clubs on the same points. Best away last season for me, just for singing on the bus from the station.
I've been in Germany all week, I got back in the early hours of this morning and had to work in London today, some ****er crashed in Leicester and they shut the MI, so it took me five hours to get home tonight. I can't face driving back down tomorrow, so this will be the third game I've missed this season. Gutted.
Where's a good place to park which doesn't take ages to get away from? Got a family birthday do tomorrow so need to be back sharpish and can't stand waiting in traffic either. Don't mind a bit of a walk and if I'm honest would probably prefer a half hour walk over sitting in a car park que for 20 minutes. Cheers matey.
