Reading match on Sky at 12.45 on Saturday 6/4 (if ManU don't make CL quarter finals) or 8 pm on the following Monday (if ManU make the quarter finals).

Come on Real Madrid! I do not want another Monday night match to a game I want to go to. Although it may make it easier to get a ticket, Reading will be a popular game to go to.

I know they pay us zillions but Sky are taking the piss a bit with that one. Also there was supposed to be a charity bike ride to Reading, so wonder what happens to that.

We are suffering from the fact that Sky have spotted that we are worth televizing and this is an important match for both teams (though I hope it's only bcause we are going for Europe<laugh>).

Sky won't care about trivial things such as fans.

Sky provide a massive amount of money to sport and coverage (that terrestrial TV couldn't provide)...there's no point in being too precious about it. Annoying (and I've been caught out on one game), but TV money has allowed the PL to expand to what it is today. We all loved our League 1 and Championship seasons, but the PL (and all the problems that come with it) is what we've aimed for. Hopefully, we'll be moaning about all those European matches soon.

We're not rubbish on telly anymore, are we? So it's all good.

I knew that the money was going up next year, but not by how much. Article in Echo says that the bottom PL club next season will get more than Man City got last year for winning the table. I suppose the knock-on effect of that is that the price of players will increase and wages as well, but will still be a massive treasure chest. Massive reason to stay up. The relegated teams next year will get 100 mill over 5 years.

Blimey. Imagine the frightening profits Sky must make to be able to splash all that cash.

Football was around long before Sky came into existence, and people will still be playing it long after the Murdoch empire has crumbled into dust. In the meantime, Sky needs football more than football needs Sky. Not sure the bozos in charge of the PL realise that though - they're all blinded by wealth and greed.
