A warm hello to all Cottagers looking in. Royals fan 100% in peace here. Please do see the ’Not 606’ Reading board for our news and preview on the game –

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...Match-Chat-(27-10-2012)?p=3653954#post3653954

The fullest respect is shown to FULHAM with full information produced equally for both sets of fans – but in all honesty far more on your team. It would be really interesting for us to have any comments from you put up here (or there on the Reading thread), like how you see the game going and general thoughts on your own team, and your (honest!) opinion of Reading.

I know some people don’t particularly like other fans producing a shopping list of questions to answer, and I perfectly understand that, so I leave any comments freely and totally with you. But if you like, these simple following points might be used as a very basic guide in case you’d like to write to something slightly longer, but don’t feel at all pushed to go along this road if it doesn’t suit you:

A] What are currently the strongest areas of YOUR squad, and who should Reading individually look out for / fear most?
B] Any young stars coming through the academy that we should keep an eye on, now or in the future?
C] It's a fine start indeed by yourselves. Realistically, where do you hope Fulham might finish if all goes more-or-less well?
D] How strong do you see the general level of the premier this season, and any general opinions of Reading FC and our current football - either for or against (you can be honest!)

I think you'll be favourites, we haven't won a game yet, although at least a few draws, and our home play marginally better than away. Anyway, here’s to a good game!

    Many thanks

    Hello Daib0
We're a hospitable bunch on the Fulham board so I'm sure you'll get a few responses.

    A) I think our defence is strong and depending who plays our central midfield, namely Diarra and then up top we've got Berbatov who is pure class.
    B) Kacaniklic on the left, Frei up front are ones to watch if they play. Another good question would have been who out of Fulham's more experienced players should you look out for? Duff and Riise are having a very good start to the season.
    C) I would like to think we could sustain our present position. We lost two big players in August but with Berbatov coming in and the others stepping up, we haven't missed them.
    D) It's a very open premiership I think. A couple of wins and you move a lot of places. I thought Reading had a rough start with the postponement of the Sunderland game and International weeks meant you didn't have the continuity of some clubs but I like your manager.

A Fulham win would be great!

    Hello Diab0,
    A) At the moment we are very strong in defence with Hangeland, Hughes and Schwarzer is a very experienced keeper. our main strength is on the wings. we have Duff, Richardson, Dejagah, Kacanikclic, Frei and Davies who are all very good wingers indeed. Our wing backs Riise and Riether are good tacklers and very dangerous crossers of the ball. Up front we have Petric and Rodallega who are both capable and there's also some bulgarian bloke. Ruiz sits just behind the striker and creates things. We have a serious problem in our central midfield, Diarra is a handy holding midfielder but at the moment we're choosing to play Sidwell as his partner until Chris "Bairdinho" Baird comes along to save the day.

    B) Frei and Kacanikclic are our 2 main young talents. Kacanikclic played a major part in Sweden's 4-4 draw revival against Germany from 4-0 down. last season Frei took on the entire Chelsea defence and almost scored. we have high hopes of them both.

    c) Top 10 would be nice but it gets harder every year.

    d) The premier league gets harder every year it seems. I like Reading and I hope Nigel Adkins doesn't get fired for the iffy start (I have money on Mark Hughes being sacked first haha)

I think we might scrape it with a 2-1 based on our current forms but any result wouldn't surprise me, it looks to be a good match. Best of luck for the rest of the season

A] What are currently the strongest areas of YOUR squad, and who should Reading individually look out for / fear most?

Our defence is pretty sold and we have Berbatov up from who is pure class. Having said that we also have Rodallega up front who is absolutely useless.
Personally I think we are weakest in midfield as we lost a few players (most noticeable Murphy) over the summer and also have a few injuries too.

B] Any young stars coming through the academy that we should keep an eye on, now or in the future?

Kacaniklic and Frei are definitely two for the future. City bit for Frei last season and Kacaniklic has broken through into the Sweden squad so both have a very bright future. I also rate Kasami who is a young Swiss midfielder we have however it seems Jol doesn’t do he doesn't tend to get much time in the premier league. I think he is definitely one to watch for the future

C] It's a fine start indeed by yourselves. Realistically, where do you hope Fulham might finish if all goes more-or-less well?

I’d be happy with top 10 if we could push for top 8 I think that would be a great season for us.

D] How strong do you see the general level of the premier this season, and any general opinions of Reading FC and our current football - either for or against (you can be honest!)

I think the Premier league is very strong now… There's no easy games…… unless you play QPR!!!! I hope you guys do OK but i fear you will struggle, I like Brian McDermott and though a lot of him when he turned down Wolves last season to stay at Reading. I’d also like to see the Pog do well in the PL – How’s he been playing for you guys. When he first came to us on loan last January he was on fire but then fizzled out towards the end of the season. Despite him going to Reading I still like him as a player and hope he does well for you guys.

While you’re on here what the best way to get from Reading Station to the Mad Stad? Someone told me you could get a bus or is it better to get a cab? I believe its around 3 miles or so from the station isn't it? Looking forward to the game this weekend, I’ve never been to the Madejski before.

A] What are currently the strongest areas of YOUR squad, and who should Reading individually look out for / fear most?
Probably the defense, but away from home they have let in silly goals. The two fullbacks Riise and Riether attack well. depends who is played in midfield, Duff has been our best consistent player there, up front Berbatov is class, and Petric has had good games.

B] Any young stars coming through the academy that we should keep an eye on, now or in the future?
The Two already mentioned Kacaniklic and Frei have done well when in the first team, of those that are still to break through Dan Burn (on loan), Minkwitz, and Boumesca (injured) all look promising.

C] It's a fine start indeed by yourselves. Realistically, where do you hope Fulham might finish if all goes more-or-less well?
If we keep up our good home form then above mid-table, if we can win a few away games, then into a Europa place.

D] How strong do you see the general level of the premier this season, and any general opinions of Reading FC and our current football - either for or against (you can be honest!)
It's a strong league, as always dominated by those with money to buy class players. McDermott has done well for you, like most of us on a small budget you will have to keep your better players fit and free from injury. Not getting a good start can be difficult in getting momentum and confidence. In Pogrebnyak you have someone who can get you goals, but you can't rely only on him, Le Fondre, and Hunt will have to help, and Roberts.

Evening daib0, I'd go along with what the others have said. I just wanted to add that some of us on this board are old enough to remember when your manager had three games on loan with us in Malcolm McDonald's great Fulham side of 1983. I've always had a soft spot for him. I hope you're disappointed at the weekend, but have a highly successful season apart from that (and the return at the Cottage, obviously).

Fantastic chaps, great responses! You've a nice group of posters all-round ...
I've added them all to our Away Fan thread on RR - http://royalsrendezvous.co.uk/topic/9742112/1 If you've anything else to mention, you can even write directly on that topic (guests welcome without signing up) or leave it here of course.

    Possible score predictions??!
