Reading Fan Chat â Norwich City v Reading Saturday 29th November 2014 (Championship) As always, friendly greetings from daib0. And onto our game together this coming Saturday â and I wondered if I could have a few views ONCE AGAIN (!) from yourselves to inform the members on Readingâs âRoyals Rendezvousâ . Guaranteed absolutely no âwind upsâ on our forum. And it might sound like Iâm looking for compliments, but Iâve really the highest regards for your moderation team, one of the most sensible and well-balanced of all the Not 606 boards Iâve encountered ⦠Whilst Iâd be grateful for anyone saying anything they like thinking ahead to the game, perhaps here Iâd just like to point you all towards a few ideas. These are some specific questions Iâm sounding out from Norwich City fans on other sites â well, to be honest principally YOU guys! These will really help us. Just a few basic easy things â here goes: A] ** As we speak Norwich are just one win from being in the play-off places. As we found out last season, being considered one of the bigger boys doesnât necessarily make the path any easier, yet you guys are quietly but confidently getting on with the work in hand. So I wondered â so how do you think your season will go from now on, using both your head and your heart? B] ** How is your squad clicking together this season â please take us through a few important players; any who should Reading particularly fear (OK, I know youâre tempted but donât just say âeveryoneâ!!), and any really promising youngsters now bursting through or about to arrive on the scene? C] ** How strong do you see the general level of the Championship this season from what you remember from a few seasons back; and rightfully crediting you as serious promotion contenders who do you see as your fiercest competitors for autos and play-offs? Any surprise teams to you, for good or bad, this season? D] ** Our own confidence in Reading is sitting on a knife-edge at present - in theory we have a good squad with loads of international players â but they are not producing the goods or playing well together! Indeed this looks like being our worst finish in over a decade if things donât radically change. Are you surprised at our lack of bite so far? And leading on from that, how do you rate Nigel Adkins? â I must mention that he is certainly coming under serious pressure from fans and media now, wondered how you see it? ... E] ** So on to the weekend game? How do you see the match going? By all means leave a prediction here even if youâve given it or will give it in another thread! Our own forum prediction thread makes for very dismal reading at present if you are a Royals fan! Any snippet quoted will be fully credited with your member user name + forum mention. Ahh ⦠and the highest mention is made of your forum as the fan recommendation site on our Match Presentation/Thread for our fans to look in at ⦠which can be found here: http://royalsrendezvous.co.uk/topic/10225015/1 ⦠plenty of info on current Norwich City, your history, and indeed the city itself. I hope it goes down well with yourselves, more experts on your team than me of course! ⦠Cheers, daib0, and the guys & gals on the Reading âRoyals Rendezvousâ forum
wasn't trying to step on your toes, just trying to coax out a few pre-match opinions! You can understand the Reading fans being dismal, we're right off the boil, but you guys are doing pretty well and I don't mind you gloating!!!
Since the usual guy that does the matchday threads stopped me and a few others have taken on the responsibility with just 1 win in the last few months . Believe me you will not be stepping on anyones toes mate. A. Play offs B. We are yet to find our best 11 C. This league is tough but Derby look very well organised. D. I honestly know very little about your team or Atkins sorry. E. I am expecting another draw with some more defensive **** ups.
A. I agree that a Play-off place is the likely target unless we can put a decent run together. B. Injuries have disrupted things and we are yet to find a consistent 11, though at least Gary Hooper is fit again. C. This league is a war of attrition but Derby look the most consistent after a slow start and Boro look the other most likely at the moment. Strangely, none of the others look that convincing to me (including ourselves). I don't see teams like Bournemouth, Brentford and Ipswich staying the course, but Watford and Blackburn could. D. I thought you would be a play-off contender this year and have been surprised that you have struggled. I do rate Adkins and like most, think he was treated badly by the Saints. Like ourselves, the holiday period will prove crucial. E. We have to be favourites, but it should be very close.
We've now put up extensive information on Norwich City, hope you'll approve. And a high word for this very board too! http://royalsrendezvous.co.uk/topic/10225015/1
Lot of work gone into that fella, well done mate - great stuff and you say some very kind things I didn't realise we had so many celebrity fans by the way - Sir David Frost, Carol Barnes, Martin Bell, Susan Tully and Prince Andrew?? Without being pedantic you missed off Ed Balls and Hugh Jackman from that list
