looking forward to this one! going to book my tickets up tomorrow for me and my dad. was just wondering how child friendly the madejaski is? i have a 5 year old boy that comes to and enjoys most of pompeys home games in the fratton end but am yet to take him away from home. any thoughts would be appreciated as im unsure on the matter.

Never had any problems at Elm park, I can't speak for the Madjeski, but it can only be better! Pompey usually go in big numbers to Reading, stick to the middle of the throng and you will be fine!

I went to the Madejski couple years back, when we won 2-0 on new years day (uslaka actually scored one!), and it was a great day out. Nice stadium, no lunatics (or none that I saw). I would reckon that there are many worse places to go, so should be fine, and probably a great first away day for anyone.

Gonna be there next weekend and heres hoping for another win and clean sheet!

If Uslaka scored a goal Tekkersaurus Rex, no wonder you remember the match so clearly !!

One day you will be able to tell your grand children that you saw a goal from Uslaka - a collectors item !

I know! I felt truly honoured and privileged to be able to bear witness to that once in a lifetime moment.....brings a tear to my eye even now when I think about it.

Anyway, heard there could be up to 3000 pompey fans at the game, and tickets are going fast so will be booking mine tonight when I get back home! Gonna be an awesome atmosphere

I have never ever had any problems at the Madjeski and I have been for both footy with Pompey and rugby with London Irish, always been friendly and I took two small boys there recently. Never ever had any problems at the Old Elm Park either. So <ok> from me, parking is at the stadium and usually well policed and CCTV coverage all around and inside the ground, which is itself a massive deterrant.

Apparatly Reading are sending down more tickets becasue were selling tickets so fast. I've already got mine and my coach ticket, for my first away day since Millwall.

P.S If anyone sees a big beach ball from row D, its mine.

Winning at Reading will definatly open it up for yo uto get into the play offs.
Out of any team in the league Pompey deserve to go up, They need to do it for the fans to pay back for the hard times you have gone through.
Good luck in this game and hope you win and hope you can reach the play offs and go up this season.

Got my tickets, been to Elm park many times years ago, never been to the mad jet ski, seems like parking may be a bit of a challenge, the one they recommend for away fans is a park and ride by the Foster Wheeler Building in Shinfield Park but is then a £3.50 return bus fare. Thats £10.50 fir three of us, aka a round of drinks! Not a fan of out of town stadiums!

I have always parked at the stadium car park? Can you not do that now on footy match days, you can if you are watching Irish.

thanks for all your help and advice. it turns out little man is busy any way this weekend so will have to be another game. maybe one of the London clubs next year. got mine and my dads tickets now sounds like over 2500 have been sold and we want another thousand, be nice to take 3-3500 up there and get the place rocking!! the away end is listed as holding up to 4250 but that many has never been given before.
cant wait for this one shame we have to put up with that tripe we call our national team in the mean time.

Adam, as you are new here, a word of advice. If you go on another teams board and are simply rude, then you will find you are ignored. If you can't find something interesting or polite to say, then this is not really the board for you, and I would suggest that you join another more suited to your attitude.

Yes, don't you just hate it when people are rude and abusive on these boards, and use derogatory descriptions to describe other teams fans. <whistle>

Yes, its imbecilic and shows a total lack of education. But, like most scummers, he just needs realigning and be shown the error of his ways. Of course he may just be a prick and beyond help.
