Great to meet up with all the 606's tonight for a beer pre-game. One of the worst games that i have seen. Nearly as bad as the relegation game in prem. I have said before and will say again.,, Reading is not a real football club. Their fans are not real fans and everytime i go there i think they get worse. Worst fans/ home support that i have ever seen. I am not joking! Seriously they are more plastic than Lego. Game should have been a draw and but we knicked it. If we ever get like that i will never go to football again.
They're certainly a weird bunch. Upon entering the stand I thought I was attending a game being played behind closed doors, and then I saw our support and realised that our faithful have still remained just that. I was sat about 7 rows below you Ellers and right next to them. They were obsessed with us and instead of backing their team they relentlessly sang about our team and our support. Watching them after Ned scored was a beautiful moment.
It did have the strangest atmosphere of any away game I've ever been to. Soulless is the word that springs to mind. Both fans and ground. As for the game, I'd say both teams were very average. In our case average is an improvement on bad though. Mind you, it was sweet when we scored.
Whenever I've been, there are always those muppets over to the right of the away end singing their little hearts out about that ****ing 106 points season they had!! They really are obsessed with us and it's very amusing. I would love to see the place if we ever take a massive away following, like a play off semi or something.
Echo what others have said, truly mind numbing spectacle at times but isn't it amazing what one goal can do? We couldn't have scored it at a better time, and Onouha will be breathing a sigh of relief after one of the worst misses I've ever seen. Thanks Al-Habsi. Was anyone in and around the proximity of 2 young lads who were far too gobby and one of them inherited the name 'Rent Boy'? The songs about him were the highlight of much of the evening.
Didn't think we made a particularly good noise ourselves but agreed about the ground. I really hope when we eventually move there is a bit of character to the stadium and local area. That 106 points chant they tried in the second half. But cringe.
Watford that's why I celebrated so much, i had some mouthy muppet shouting over at us all night. As you all saw from last night, they are a weird lot.
Must admit I was surprised when they said the attendance was over 16k........looked about half that......you could hear the players talking to each other such was the lack of noise coming from the stands........and as for their PA announcer, thought he was cheering on us when he shouted out "C'mon U R's" before kick off........a nice touch wanting us to do well They really are mini me, still what's the saying.....imitation is the sincerest form of flattery......or something like that.....
