Just watched the archive highlights the club has put up on Player of our home game with Reading coming up to 4 years ago. What a different team we had back then under Jones' in his last year at the club. Whitts is the only survivor - and he even looked quick in that game. <laugh>

Tom Heaton in goal (I think he was getting the nod over Marshie at the time) with Paul Quinn, Huds, McNuggs and Naylor in front of him.

From the vid, the midfield consisted (including used subs) of Chris Burke on the right and Jay Emmanuel Thomas on the left, with Olofinjana, Bellers, Whitts and Ramsey in the middle.

Up front, we had Jay Bothroyd and Chops, and I'm sure I can remember big John Parkin being thrown on there at the end as well.

Thinking back to the game when watching at the time, we should have wrapped it up in the first hour. Same old story - missed chances before it finished all square at 2-2 with a last minute free kick from Bellers to equalise and get us a point.

A good and memorable highlights clip if you want to watch it - just hope we can do a bit better against them next weekend.

For those of you without Cardiff City Player.

The pitch has come on leaps and bounds since then. This was the season we got stuffed by Reading in the playoffs

Just watched that again Sheepy - what a super view of that Leigertwood kidney punch on Chopra in that pushing and shoving fracas at the end.

Can't remember - did he get a ban for that?

Nah I think that both teams were fined for not controlling their players but no bans. But god what a moaner Chops was! <laugh>

    I remember this game because

    a) It was cold
    b) It was depressing thinking that we were going to come away with nothing after missing all those chances and the players were having a fight.

Some good games against Reading recently. I was in the away end when their goal keeper scored in the 90 + 6th minute of the game despite only 4 minutes been added on. That was also depressing <wah> Probably the same season was a 2-2 at a packed Ninian Park on a Tuesday night when two sublime finishes in the first 10 minutes from Wayne Routledge put us ahead before Kevin Doyle roped us back.

Remember going to their old ground in the mid 80's.
    Think it was 1-1.

I was also at the one when Federeci scored in the 117th Minute.

Plus also when Kavanagh got sent off.

Went to Elm Park a few times, and I was at the Madejski for I think their first season there (around '99?).

We'd just taken Leggy and Jason Bowen off them after they'd been frozen out there in the "gang of five" controversy. We won 1-0 and Jason Bowen scored the goal - sweet. <ok>
