I can potentially ( very likely ) go to this so if anyone is and fancied a pre game beer / one on the concourses give me a shout and would happily oblige. I said Reading was a free hit - I didn't envisage Hull + Rotherham winning!!! 30 to play, maybe 35 points needed to have a chance. Hmmmm! Be interesting what Lambert does line up wise - going to assume perhaps the same, one / two changes maximum than v PNE. Sounded like Roberts did well and perhaps took his chance - good on you lad! Prediction - oh dear. Errm,,,,, go on we'll win this. 2-1. We have to, right!?
One more week with the lads for Lambert, we'll pull off a 1-0 win against Reading and things will look a little better.
Ever the optimist, lady luck continues to side with us and we scrape a 1-1 draw. Trouble is we need that elusive win.
Tickets actually bought. What have I got myself into. Well, at least a drunken evening with a friend. So unlikely to be able to provide any thoughts until Sunday. AWFUL away day too - been several times and never seen us win there.
I predict a goalfest... but one we'll probably lose. Neither side can defend so I wouldn't be surprised if an early goal turned the game into an entertaining end to end, nail biting twist and turn fueled spectacle of shoddy defending and every so slightly less shoddy attacking. Ipswich 3 - 4 Reading
Know the town very well as my ex was from there and it's one of the better away days in the Championship if you can lift your curse... I don't envy you though Westlake I think this one is going to be one way traffic.
Must confess to not knowing the town centre at all - and don't doubt it has some good bars / nightlife etc. I'm sure if you know Reading it's good. However, to me Reading is like a Bolton / Coventry experience as perhaps the worst away days possible. Ground outside the centre, no bars around, nothing to do, just not how an away day should be to me. I like stadium in the centre, pubs / bars etc everything around. Portman Road's a quality away day - ground right by trainstation, away fans get station pub. What it's all about. Both Sheffield / Forest / Millwall / Villa / Leeds clubs like this are away days in our league I love. It's close to me - be staying in Chippenham with a mate driving so it's an easy away day for us to do. Looking at the Reading squad on paper - again - more quality than us to me. We'll see Saturday - hopefully can bring it home!
It is a good night out - depends what music you like but the After Dark was always a winner for me - and there (was anyway) a shuttle from the centre which makes it a lot easier than some others.
Massive game today. Forget everything else. Leave everything out there and get the three points. Come on Town!!!
