Its still us v them when in fact we ar enowhere close to that yet.

the fact is utd reserves (everton) have moved their coaches lock and stock to utd and i cannot believe utd have allowed that to occur. I think ferguson had mike phelan after many years of trying to be a dynasty and his chosen ones leaving him for "better things" Either scholes and giggs are made out to be the guys to instil that winning way and intensity or its moyes... if its moyes i fail to see utd being the same force they were.

I simply don't see that but in reality its just city and chelsea under new management and new players/systems that will challenge them.

Our club is not looking at winning anything. we are looking at building up at best to being a modern club with I hope a 60k stadium and the facilities around youth etc. That is not going to get us to a league title as arsenal have amply proved..... there is no comparision to utd in my mind at this point as we strive towards lowly 4th with players who are in fairness to them hungry but the second tier type that the top clubs pass by but we pick up.

I am not saying that David Moyes is not going to be successful at Old Traford, but it is going to be difficult for him to equal Alex Ferguson success.
    We have.

Liverpool are prepared, that's a given, however United aren't stupid, they'll have every thing in place to defend themselves. The next 5 years will be interesting, even Arsenal are looking well prepared, it's going to be tough but if the laws do change, i can see some exciting times ahead at anfield.

moye will never even get remotely close to ferguson's success. i think a league title will be a huge achievement for moyes and his back room team despite the advantages he's got.

He will never win in europe IMO... I think he'll be sacked in 2-3 years max and a real top man brought in for that.... should be interesting. I just still can't believe utd went and hired him. just don't get it.

From what I've read the reason for hiring Moyes was down to his footballing 'values' rather than his success. Fergie apparently wanted him as his assistant 10 years ago, so he's been an admirer of his for a while.

Do any of you seriously think United will just stop being a force within the next 5 years?

As I see it Moyes has walked into a job where hes managing veteran champions. Some of the players he has at his disposal are multiple times champions and are not even in their mid 20's. Hes then got access to the Youth champions of last year and a scouting network rivaled by very few.

In England he has the best resources available to him of any club laid on the best foundations.

Sure he wont match Fergie, nobody will so thats not the target hes been set. His targets are to keep United right up there. This will be easier than people think.

If United coaches are to be believed he wanted him as assistant going back to his days as PNE player manager.

Fergie has always been Moyes biggest fan.

Even Rodgers would win the league with United. Thats how well we are set up and run.

the only manager who wouldnt is that fat chap who left chelsea at the end of last season.

Seriously though, why in your opinion will Moyes fail? He did well at Everton considering what he was up against and hes got a whole lot more at his disposal now.

Hes also a transfer muppet. I expect some rather large names to come under Moyes. Young potential world POTY type players.

And yet, despite having these 'champion-worthy' foundations, wee Davey walks in and sends several backroom staff scurrying out with P45s. Champion-making backroom staff, to make way for his have-won-nothing-but-admiration staff.

I'm not saying its all going wrong, because its far too early to say one way or the other, but bloody hell, if I were you, my palms would be sweating...

no i don't see you not being a force cos you can spend 50mil anytime you want.

however there's the foot on the gas argument and frankly how you set up. if utd lose the intensity for 90mins and just don't look the same type for flowing football thats where its an issue.

you don't have the best resources though.. you have ample but nothing like chelsea and city's money. ferguson didn't so much see of city as they fell aprt but he saw off arsenal, chelsea et al... can moyes see off the spending at cheslea? can he rebuild or do you think jones and smalling and the like are it when ferdinand toddles off on his zimmer and vidic finally takes to his bathchair?

as for "even" rodgers would... that funny... i did laugh, can't wait to see you fall flat on this one... I think i'd NEARLY copy those comments and put them in my signature

He made a few changes. He was hardly going to keep Mike Phelan who for all intensive purposes had 3 things to do. Put out the cones for training, book flights and wear the shortest short shorts possible to remind Liverpool fan of a time when they mattered.

Rene will be a loss though as will Steele as he worked so ell with De Gea.

However the people hes brought in know Moyes and he knows them. Its quite normal for a new manager to bring his staff. Infact its rare they dont.

Got to say - as much as I would love Moyes to **** the party up - I can't see him having any major effect either way.

If Fergie was in charge next season I wouldn't be backing UTD for the title so I certainly won't be with the change but they'll still be top 3 and will probably add a trophy imo.

We can all dream and hope it's catastrophic still though :D

You forgot no.4 - Take interviews after games where you've been outplayed and he was too upset/angry/disconsolate to face BBC questions, in case he ends up on the receiving end of an FA charge...<ok>
