Any time I see something that shows the vastness of what is beyond our tiny sphere, I cannot help but think that there just has to be some other intelligent life form somewhere. Not necessarily more advanced that us Humans as many Sci-fi movies portray, but a life form that can talk and interact intelligently with each other.

I think it's entirely probable that there is life out there and I could quite believe that other worlds would have vastly more advanced species. Sheer distance seperates us from so much. Even were a civilisation to achieve lightspeed travel it could still take many hundreds of thousands of years to get to what would be a needle in a haystack to find other civilisations (Granted narrowed down potentially by broadcasting out to space!). Our bloomin galaxy is supposedly anything from 100000-180000 light years wide! The mind boggles at how far away we are from exploring even a fraction of the milky way, when we haven't yet left our own solar system. The next star is over 4 light years away!!!

    Bah!
