Classic Methven - anything for a pound note.

There will be widespread unhappiness if this happens.

Apart from anything else, how can you re-name something you don’t own ?

I do not agree with you @Part Time Crombie Model but they can rename the gaff but it will always be known as The Valley.
Whilst Methven will always be known as a c***.

As we enter the final stretch of the season, there’s a real sense of momentum at The Valley.

With Nathan Jones leading a competitive squad and a play-off push in sight, the future looks bright for Charlton Athletic.

Looking ahead to the 2025/26 season, the club are opening new sponsorship and partnership opportunities for businesses looking to align with a club built on ambition, community, and a proud footballing history.

The latest sponsorship brochure outlines a range of opportunities, from high-profile kit sponsorships and stadium branding to digital activations and hospitality partnerships. Whether you're looking to enhance brand visibility, engage with Charlton's loyal fanbase, or create memorable experiences, the club have options to suit your objectives.

Now is the time to be part of Charlton’s journey. Get in touch to explore the possibilities and register your interest by emailing.

They can stick a new name up their arses.

"Engage with Charlton's loyal fan base" = "Rip the gullible cvnts off"

I think I'll send the SMT an email claiming that I own the rights to the Laurel & Hardy theme music :emoticon-0159-music

And I'll pay them £10 if they play the theme over the PA system every time Charlton's opponents score a goal at the (insert name) Stadium, formerly known as the Valley.

    They'll snap my hand off <laugh> <doh>

You can guarantee that Mundell & Seriously Boring will come out in support of this. Neither has any rapport with our fanbase.

It’s classic Methven that he’s looking to hawk something he has no intention or ability to own.

I understand that Methven’s preferred bidder is Dynorod, as they are both full of s hit.

    The Dynorod Valley.

Anyone who supports this crass, money grabbing decision has no understanding of our club’s culture or recent history.

It strikes desperation with our financial situation. Previous owners were not interested in a rename.
Besides, the overall figure I imagine is minimal. A decent team would attract crowds and extra dough to gulf what a rename would bring in.

This was a line even Duchatelet was not inclined to cross, despite his liking for provoking Charlton supporters.

Sadly though I think it's also sign of the generational changes in English football.
Everything it seems is up for sponsorship and re-naming.
Stadiums, stands, individual parts of platers' kit.
Even the names of some Clubs - as in those funded by Red Bull for instance.

Years ago when the FA Cup was first sponsored, many raised their voices protesting that the oldest football Cup competition and trophy in the World should never have a sponsor's name plastered on it. For a few seasons it was disingenuously knows as "The FA Cup, sponsored by..."
Now it's the Emirates' FA Cup. And nobody seems to care anymore.

I wonder if the chaps on CL could have a whip-round and get the Valley re-named the Charlton Life Stadium.
I can think of someone who might find that more than a little annoying :emoticon-0136-giggl

The apologists are saying our fans are fickle, I say that we care.

Players, managers, owners come and go. The fans are always there supporting the club, and staying with the same club.

While we were supporting our club at their “home games” at Selhurst & Upton Park, he was attending his home games at Ninian Park.

You have to have lived it to understand it.

That’s confirmation that we aren’t being fickle.
