Who really cares whether he had sex with a consenting 15-year-old? Clearly the bird in question has decided her 5 minutes of fame at school as a teenager weren't enough, so she's gone telling tales 4 decades later <doh>

He got married to a 15 year old while living in Texas, where it was not unusual at the time(which was the 60's) and he was in his 20's, so not quite the Pervy Wyman situation.

Should be pronounced Sir Vile (just until they strip him of his knighthood of course)

I heard that they were thinking of stripping him of his knighthood, but I understand that knighthoods "die" when the person dies. So, technically, there is nothing to strip him of (if that makes sense)

It's getting really boring now. The bloke is long dead, it's not like any of these people will get any justice, even if they are telling the truth.

I really don't see the point in any of it and I don't see why everyone has suddenly decided to come out the woodwork now. If they wanted justice, they should have spoken up years ago, I don't buy this 'untouchable' profile he's got.

Savile may be dead but that shoudln't stop the truth of his activities being made public, but more imporatantly, theinvestigation may lead to criminal prosecutions and prison terms for people within his 'circle' of activities who are still very much alive ... and profusely sweating right now.

Then again, the "binned journalists" came out with a fair bit of credit on Newsnight tonight.

As did the fact that there are elements of the BBC that are just as pissed off as everyone else about this - i.e everyone but the ex - head of output and now director general.

One just wonders now whether another "aged" celebrity's decision to "take a break" has anything to do with this saga, such is the breech of trust caused by this.

    Simply stunning.

And WTF is an "open secret"?? It's either a secret or it's out in the open

I don't know if the BBC can continue in its current form after all this is over, if it ever is. Certain politicians have been wanting the Beeb broken up for years and maybe, just maybe, this affair might be the catalyst for such a break up.
