Looks poor the "Wedlock". Those flags look familiar so familiar I know who owns them and that some have not been part of this consultation at all.

Im in the ashton vale camp no matter how much they glam up AG. We need a new ground. If we cant get AV, Then yeah update AG as it needs it. I cant see the pics for some reason so I don't know how good/bad it looks.

Hardly worth looking at the pictures and reading the bumph that comes with it it looks like a flim flam exercise this is what we plan we will listen to what you say then build it as it currently is any way. From what is shown the plans are too far advanced for there to be any meaningful consultation.

This Wedlock looks terrrible. There is no cohesive idea there, its a mediocre hybrid. Part rugby enclosure, part bowl, losing the feel and acoustics of the current stand.

    Underwhelming to say the least.

From what I've seen I'd say it looks poor and is a colossal waste of money.

Even if we tart up Ashton Gate a bit, the facilities will still be poor for a team looking to be in the Championship or higher in the future. Ashton Vale offered us an opportunity to move on into a stadium that we can grow into when needed, and to expand for business. Ashton Gate may suit our needs for a few seasons, but when we have a successful run we'll all see that we need to grow.

I'd rather we do nothing, if we can't get Ashton Vale. Hell, if the morons do actually win their legal fight I'd happily support the move of the Ashton Vale stadium to outside of Bristol. There's plenty of room around Hengrove or Keynsham for a stadium, and I reckon the locals won't mind as much. Given the money we've already spent I think Lansdown would be an idiot not to see Ashton Vale through to the end.

I don't think there was an opportunity for anything meaningful at the start either. That structural shape was already set in stone.

What would you do to improve it?

Surely it's sensible to have plans for Ashton Gate redevelopment while Ashton Vale is ...... well let's say has an unknown outcome.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think it looks quite good.

It all looks mis matched and odd to me as if it's been designed by several different people and then all cobbled together at the last minute.

If these plans are anything to go by then it's really not going to look that nice in reality.

What it looks like is 3 stands all designed by 3 separate architects.

I'd like to see the Atyeo stand go and then have a seamless set of seating to replace it along with the Dolman and East End so that it looks more modern.

Having the Williams stand higher/different wouldnt matter then.

If we were going to have to stay at AG what I would try and do is but the land to the west of the ground the retail units and industrial units between the Ground and Winterstoke road then the ground could be Rotated 90 degrees and a structure similar to AV or better, something along the lines of the Millenium stadium, could be built in BS3, as if it had a roof could be more attractive for concerts, large boxing events etc during the summer or even during the Football season if there was no football or rugby game scheduled that week.

I forgot to add that having a roof would help the pitch in that really heavy rain or snow could be kept off the ground and it would help the pitch to not deteriorate as fast with ball and egg chasing on it.

One other advantage is that the East end would return to being in the East and not the south stand as it is now plus then having a roof would keep the sound in increasing the volume and you could design the interior roof of the East End so it projected the sound our towards the pitch.

I would put the executive boxes along both sides of the pitch at the back of the stands have the family section at the front of one of the side stands with the West stand designed to allow for sections to be allocated to away fans from 1-6 thousand depending on their away support. Moving them nearer to the goal if there were fewer of them and spreading out from there if the support was larger the upper decks would be put in place but only opened as the crowds increased.

How does that sound to the rest of you?

well went down ( was in H4H shirt if u were there ), i am an avid AV fan, but wasnt that bad, and after chatting to development company and david lloyd its seems that AG will get done and should be finished by 2016.

then we will have a better stadium with high prospects of income and a better attraction as a club, this is so, as i was told " steve lansdown wont give up and WILL win at AV site" and in approx 5-10 years time we will get our NEW stadium at AV.

We will then not have to wait all that time in limbo, with no way of pushing the club forward and risk the whole future of the club.

i REALLY want AV, but i think now this makes sense economically in the short term, what do u guys think?

    100% agree.

As for the comment by Redandy:-
I believe that many of us underestimate the strength of feeling and determination by Steve Lansdown to have his way with Ashton Vale.

On the face of it a rebuild of Ashton Gate would seem to be us done and dusted for the next 30 to 50 years. But so long as it does not cost the Football Club any money, ie so we don't have any transfer funds like in the past when stands were built, SL would still recoup a hefty chunk of the rebuild costs when he sells Ashton Gate sometime in the future to a Sainsbury's or other wealthy retailer or house builder.

And then Ashton Vale will be built on totally with a stadium and houses! And SL gets a big profit out of it all and fair play to him. He has created a business in his home city, with employment for many and he'll continue reaping the rewards of all his hard work. And I hope still continuing to support local Bristol sport.
