Very humble guy and a great footballer that wouldn't have looked out of place in today's game.
Always had time for his views on football, knew the game inside out....RIP Ray, very sad loss.

    Such terribly sad news.
A top player but a better human being.
He always saw the good in people, RIP Ray.

There was a TV programme some years ago about the young hopeful players at Chelsea based at Cobham training facility. Ray was the go to guy for these lads and he held counselling sessions with them and I was extremely impressed with his ability to handle difficult situations with compassion and panache. I can remember thinking how nice it must be to have such a talented player turned coach on their squad because his empathy with the youngsters was incredible. Thanks Ray.

Such a shame - a top top man. Many may recall I wanted him and Hoddle as our management team when Cotterill left. Pie in the sky I know, but I believe they would have been good for us. Although LJ is doing OK!!
