@CAFCofficial: The club is saddened to hear of the passing of former striker Ray Treacy, at the age of 68. #RIPRay #cafc http://t.co/u5fxcQ7tEF He was one of my favourite players in my favourite Charlton team. Wright Curtis, Went, Reeves, Kinsey Gregory, Campbell, Moore, Peacock Tees, Treacy RIP Ray, you gave this teenager a lot of joy.
There are traces there of the first ever Charlton team I saw, but I've got to be honest, Ray Treacy was just before my time. Still very sad news though as there will be a lot of fans who remember him. RIP Ray.
I totally endorse all your sentiments. What years were those, 1966-67? My memory is shot these days. No real defender in that midfield four which made things entertaining at both ends. Brian Clough thought highly of Ray. (Never signed him though).
Oh dear how sad. The player I remember the most from my earliest days at The Valley, and so one of favourites ever. I hope he had a good life after football.
