A week or so ago I posted about the availability of Ravel Morrison. Many comments dismissed this due to his dubious past and recent charges of assault against him! It now turns out that all claims against him have now been withdrawn and all charges dropped subsequent to CCTV footage becoming available regarding the incidents. Probably too late but now but could he perhaps have been a viable option after all?
Depends on a few things, namely is Taarabt staying? Has his attitude improved? Will Harry play him? Is Harry staying? We've no room for two mercurial talents. We've barely enough room for one.
Other than one or two good moments he was pretty awful for us last time around and was clearly not giving anything like his best effort. Not the type of player I want to see at LR regardless of his private life.
Isn't Morrison a little too similar to Taarabt? Instead of taking a risk on Morrison, why not try and get the best out of Taarabt, who from what I've seen is a better player. Best scenario would be an on fire Taarabt, and then bringing in a striker to support Austin.
I think we need another player with the technical ability of Adel in our team, which really lacks enough technically good players. Definitely if Adel is going, but as back up at the least for Adel, who ought to be a regular fixture in our start 11, but for whatever reason hasn't been, and probably won't be. Morrison kept us in a play-off position towards the end of last season with some very good performances, even though he disappeared when it came to nail biting time. If there is nobody better in his role available he's probably worth bringing in again.
Taarabt is 100% going i am 23% sure of that. He is currently in talks with Inter Milan not AC: He said: “Inter did contact me, and they are sure about my physical condition. I think negotiations have reached a stage which involves Inter players that have attracted the interest of QPR; the situation is a bit complicated.
For me, it was never about the legal case. It was about him being a little wannabe gangster. No thanks.
Being cynical, anyone else find the timing if this a bit fortuitous, in that he is now free to move on, either within PL or overseas, without this hanging over his head. Surely the CCTV evidence was available before now, so how has it taken this long for him to be cleared? Funny that it's all sorted now some "big" Italian clubs are interested
More like his reputation was hanging over him from the beginning and it took decent lawyers to prove his innocence in this case. He should sue for damage to reputation, career and finances.
Don't disagree with you Imaz, but what were CPS playing at letting it go on for so long if this evidence was available all along? He may be a wannabe "gangsta" but if innocent of this, why leave it so long. Hope he does sue for damages..
Too right there. Bit like stop and search statistics isn't it. Anyways the real problems are Redknapp and Fat Boy who are destroying the future of the club we love.
Too true pal, think the damage has all been done though, and getting rid of either of them won't solve it this season
This. Everyone keen to put him in the box of ragamuffin - young - black - feisty - mouthy - therefore he is a gangster>?
Isn't Ravel on a whole heap of cash? Don't think he would fit into the wage structure the club 'are trying' to implement? Plus no, think we need to be investing in other areas, if we are spending money. Despite being a potential free I expect he would want a rather large signing on fee as well
