Joins for an undisclosed fee, reports say it's 15m

Not sure what to make, good player no doubt but did we need another box to box? At least Sturridge didn't go ey.

I'm happy with that. Modric is probably a better player - but £28 million better? Don't think so!

Meireles is pretty decent in the middle, and will give us some more options. Plus he knows AVB from their time in Porto!

Yeah you're right, I hear the fee is 11.6 million!

    Our potential line up:

    ----------------Cech----------
    Bosingwa--Terry--Luiz--Cole
    --------------Ramires---------
    --------Lampard--Meireles----
    -Sturridge----------------Mata-
    ---------------Torres--------

Alright lads, I don't think many of us expected this to happen...

Anyway, Raul is a good player and will probably do well for Chelsea.

By the way, stop coming in for our players at the end of every transfer window! ;)

    Good luck for the season.

Cheers mate, good to see there's at least one Liverpool fan who isn't behaving extremely fickle about this <ok>.

Good luck to you lot too, expect there to be a strong challenge from you lot.

I think emotions might be running a bit high at the moment with Meireles. A lot of Liverpool fans didn't want him to go and are disappionted that he's left.

Think he'll do well at Chelsea.

Good news all round, sturridge still here and Meireles in, his not a bad player as it goes, just been watching couple of videos of him and he looks alright, scores a good few and might just add a bit of the creativity we need witha bita luck. Apparently spurs rejected 30m + Alex yesterday.
Was a bit shocked nothing come of the rumours of Pereira and Van Der wiel, was expecting us to be a bit more productive than we were but i think next season will be where the major things happen, as i personally think kalou, anelka, drogba ( don't want to see it but i reckon it will ),malouda and alex are all on there last seasons as next year Romelu,Lukaku, Mata, Luiz, Davilla,Kakuta, Josh and Van Aanholt will all be given a big push next season and i think we're giving most of the oldies one more season.
Anyway onwards and upwards and hopefully we have a great season, not expecting too much as we are making radical changes and letting them piece together slowly before a all out assault next year.

not lot of Kop would be upset with Raul's departure - ofcourse he is a good player. But at this point their mid field is over crowded.

It is a good bargain for us and it is a decent sale for them - unlike Nando's deal.

Meireles is just another Lampard. He's a good player - perhaps even better than Lampard at this precise moment in time, but as the OP states, if you're thinking that he is a like for like alternative for Modric, you'll be sadly mistaken

Raul is a much better player than Modric im pissed off he left like that its come as a bit of a shock to me. I think there must of been a bust up between Raul and Kenny behind the scenes becausewe had no reason to sell him and he had no reason to leave. Or perhaps he was tapped up by your new manager with the promise of first team football, who knows.

Anyway back to my point, all this talk of Modric and 40m offers is crazy has anyone seen his stats for last season...3 goals and 3 assists. I dont see why he is hyped up in fact ill go as far as saying he is no better than Benayoun.

Anyways good luck for the rest of the season and as for Raul **ck you! lol

How does make sense for Liverpool to sell a creative player on deadline day and not replace him?

good deal for us I reckon, especially with essien out long term, and lamps coming to the end of the road , unfortuantely. We will have a lot fo games , and this will mean that we will be able to lighten the load for everyone , when it comes to crunch time.

Long term , anelka will leave as on only year left of his contract.
Kalou will leave to hot and cold.
Maluda may stay as still good , and young and fit, but needs to sort out his attitude bit more.
Torres, sorry buy like shevchenko, reckon that was owners buy and again does not seem to be working, but will give hima season to bed in in.
The one we need to worry about is when the Drog leaves, I will blubber like a 3 year old when he goes, Legend so many goals, so many run in's with Barca
I no the are teh Combat 18 lot who hate him, they can kiss my A**

We have replacements in Hendo and Adam.

With regards to Raul, it is a good signing for both clubs because we have an overcrowded midfield, he is older than our other midfielders, he is forgein and we have sold him for the most we possibly could (age would be a bigger issue next season)

For Chelsea it's good because of his links with the boss and other stuff....

I am quite annoyed we lost him, very good player imo. Still comes across as a bit of a panic buy after failing with Modric and he is maybe 2nd best for you lot? Despite that, I think he is a far better player than Modric.

Can I ask though, if say Charlie Adam scores past you this season, will you try and buy him too?
