    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratho

I spent a few years living here in my formative years and even attended a school in Curry from memory.

Any of you ****s know of Ratho and whether it has changed much in the last 40 years? Changed enough to make my making a nostalgic revisit a total waste of time?

I remember a river/canal at the bottom of the garden. A village of 3 small roads and a post office, cop shop and 3 pubs. grocery and fish & chip vans once a week - the chip van sold amazing stovies in polystyrene cups.

....and the constant stench of **** from the fields either side of the road from Ratho to Dalmahoy. Dirty bastids.

Nice canal trip from Ratho. Nice pub from where the trips leave. This was about 18 years ago.

    Hope that helps.

Good wee cycle ride along the canal from Edinburgh. Nice place to spend an hour or two (as long as the weather's nice) but you'd be hard pressed to find enough to do to spend a whole day there.

The Bridge Inn is still there @Gambol

Pumped a pretty good looking girl at a party in Ratho just under forty years ago; she was a friend of my pal's twin kid blisters!

Being a Leither I am not out west too much.

    Thanks for the memory.

    Quite, Fingers.

I remember DI Dev stating that you put sausages (real ones not poofter ones) in stovies for ****'s sake. **** hasn't got a clue.

So glad I didn't go to that, though I understand the sense of being let down all those who went must have had.
