Just read this comment from MM and found it to be very childish, these are the sort of comments that have caused me to dislike the man so much!! Meanwhile, McCarthy made no apologies for not fielding an out and out winger such as Alex Henshall against the Cottagers. âYou know I donât give a flying one who anybody wants to see in my team, donât you?â he added. âAnd the more people shout for them, the less chance they have of going on, so they should recognise that as well. âWe were playing a team that played a diamond, so it actually suited us not to have Hunty, Ando, Alex Henshall and Cameron Stewart because of the way they played. So the more people demand that a certain player plays, the more he will resist playing them, nice!!
Actually just had a thought, maybe we should call for Nouble and Tabb to play every week, that way........
I have to agree Spanish, this smacks of arrogance and stubborness - how to publicly turn off your own squad members...and us...honest Joe public paying a princely sum to support them/him! How much better to come out and first up praise fullsomely....then explain simply why he chose such and such tactics...and keep everyone in the frame.
I would imagine this was just a frustrated response to being asked the same questions week in week out in press conferences and therefore lashed out a bit. We all know that stubbornness is a characteristic that Mick has in abundance, but I would hope that bloody-mindedness isn't going to a major factor in team selections
Just his way of saying he's the boss, I do it my way, nothing wrong with that, think he knows more about it than any of us
I can understand if he had said ' I am the manager and i pick a team that i think will win' but to say what he said is just bang out of order, you dont want to alienate the fans with comments like that!!
Oh grow up ffs! Mick knows what he wants and who he wants and has forgotten more about football then we shall ever know! I know this is just the start of the season but please Spanish just lay off the guy!
I think you should be looking closer to home on your own board mate! This is light hearted compared to some of your lot going at it like rats in the sack!
Do you actually believe he would do that Spanish? jesus man we all know Mick loves a press conference quote to get people talking. Mountains and molehills comes to mind.
Ok guys you can see no wrong in what he said, we shall have to beg to differ on this and you will just have to accept that i think the man is an arsehole, just like i have to accept that for some, the man can do no wrong!! Horses for courses as they say!!
Oh and another oh, i prefered it when Warky was in the Carribean and next time take ****ing Guru with ya!!
His remarks don't mean much to me personally but I can see where Spanish is coming from. For every Warky there's a Spanish, and for this reason Mick should be a bit more careful with his words otherwise he could make a few enemies.
What i would say is, had Roy said that you would have been all over it like a Norfolk rash but as its MM.......
problem is spanish, MM has done more for this club in 18 odd months than the other 3 clowns before him put together and times by 10! and thats with no money! thats why he is given a certain amount of poetic licence in what he says. We get you don't like him, thats fine, its your opinion, christ sometimes it was you and me against the world when we had saint coco in charge. the road will be bumpy but at least we are moving in the right direction, 12 months ago we would have lost that game on saturday.
Dont get me wrong guru, im not saying he hasnt made us far more difficult to beat and i was impressed with the performance Saturday, its some of the things he says and his arrogance that i cant stand. Not knocking him for what he is doing on the pitch but for some of the **** he comes out with. Sometimes is better to say nothing!!
Funny Warky but thats kinda my opinion of MM but as i said ' Horses for courses' we will never agree on this!!
