Rate The Player #6: Alejandro Faurlin

  1. Premiership Class. One of our key players last season and next

  2. Potential. Excelled last season in the CCC, but could find the step up a challenge.

  3. Squad. Did enough in the CCC to secure a berth in the squad, but will only warm the bench.

  4. Did OK against Leeds and Donny;the prospect of Man City and Arsenal is too scary to contemplate.

  5. Didn't contribute enough last season - certainly shouldn't be on the bus this year.

Challenging Adel for our most talked about player of last season, rate and comment on our midfield diamond himself, Alejandro Faurlin...

1 for me. Class act that would find a place in most premier teams

    1. Easy peasy. Strong, good in the air, good engine and magnificent passing ability. Only lack of pace/shooting stops him already being at a top 4 club.

    1. He's got everything about his game he needs to be a top prem player. Class act, comfortable in posession with an opponent or two on his case and still either plays the safe route out or produces some magic. Doubles up well with Derry picking or providing the scraps. Hope he takes more free kicks around the box, capable of scoring 10+. A snip at 3.5 mill....... What was that?

    1. Though just about. Nowhere near as good as everyone here is saying.............yet. The lad is still young and is a very good player but he still needs to work on his finishing and sometimes passing. However there is bags of potential there and next season is pivotal for him. If he continues to improve he can become a top quality Premiership player.

Top Player what surprises me is talk of Tarrabt being chased by top clubs when Faulin is class,we must resist any attempt by top clubs poaching him,and they will try once they see him perform on the Premier League stage

You know when he first came to us he hated doing all the nitty-gritty stuff in the middle of the park, that's unbelievable considering how he and Derry done last year, combine this with his passing and technical ability and you can see why he rate him so highly

    1. I've got a touch of the doubting-Swordsies about Ali tbh. Like Swords I've instinctively voted the top option but confess to harbouring similar reservations and similar hopes for the best.

Quite evidently an R and a massively popular player though: certainly not one I'd want to see off the teamsheet at any stage.
