It's the turn of midfield rock, Shaun Derry. Vote and comment, peeps.... Damn the demons of Copy&Paste - #2 should read "Potential. Excelled last season in the CCC, but could find the step up a challenge." And #3: "Squad. Did enough in the CCC to secure a berth in the squad, but will only warm the bench." Also, #5: "Didn't contribute enough last season - certainly shouldn't be on the bus this year. "
This is a difficult one, in the Championship he was one of our heroes and ran Paddy close for Player of the Year but in the PL he may be found out. If the right players are around him he could be very effective, but there's a chance he could be exposed at this level.
This was an innovative idea Willy, good one. 2. Shazza deserves his shot but will find it tough. Might not be able to handle it but he'll definitely play a part.
Everyone thought he was finished, but what a leader, did all Tarrabts tackling and his partnership with Faulin was the base of our promotion,I wish he was only 25
3. Agree with Peter, wish he was younger. He's a chess player, Shaun. Reads the game extremely well and was our de facto skipper. But does he / can he move around enough for all the pass and run stuff he's gonna come up against? Doubt it and really don't want to see him humiliated. Having said that, I know like a few of our lads, he's gonna be down the gym and out on the track every day to prove us wrong... Go on Shauny ol' son, show us what you're still made of!
2, the role he played last season was crucial to our success, hunt in packs, stifle opposition and break down their build up and turn it into QPR posession. He did it all season and if his reading of the game can make up for his aging bones, I reckon he, with faulin can do the same job against half the prem
He deserves to be given a chance. Hopefully his reading of the game will get him to the right place rather than relying on pace. Like Clint Hill, he is a very good man to have in the changing room and will sacrifice himself for the team.
2 - agree with all previous comments. If only he was 10 years younger.......................mind ou, we could all say that about ourselves
Top class last season. Surprised me I have to say. Not sure he'll have the legs for the pace of the Premiership though.
2. Great season for Derry and needs to be in the first XI at horror places like Blackburn and Stoke this season. Under big pressure if we sign a younger DM.
Class last year. I think the Prem will be a different proposition for him though. Not getting any younger but can certainly do a job!
