    'Sir' James Gregory

Imagine if you can a world where Rangers have always been a really little club, a bit like Brentford and Leyton Orient.

Imagine all that suddenly changes and we're winning promotions and a cup final... celebrating our successes, investing in interesting new players, bringing quality youngsters through a sorted youth development scheme and rapidly improving the ground.

Imagine that amidst all that we take a nosedive, relegated out of the top flight on the lowest ever points and back into the abyss - and then seamlessly recovering to take our place among the greats for years to come...

...and ALL that without us fans having to even think about boardroom matters!!

Wow, what a world! The QPR world of big Jim Gregory, the truest of all Rs and greatest Chairman ever.

God, how we've missed him since he took his all too-early retirement and sold up to buy Pompey by the sea...

All due respect kiwi - but your well meaning thread is a sacrilege. Jimmy G was THE man. We will never see his like again.

Jim Gregory without doubt, but I would like to add an honourable mention for Bill Power who showed promise until he was ousted by Paladini.

Without Jim we'd still be a Brentford or Orient sized club, his 'unorthodox' way of running the club established us in the big-time. None of his successors were in the same league. His 'payments' kept Stan in the bookies for several years...

    Jim Gregory

Ten miles ahead of any other chairman, why because he cared about QPR in fact he was QPR.
