Rate Newcastle United Squad™

OK saw this on another board and thought it would be a good idea too see you Geordie's opinions on the Newcastle first team. Everyone has diffident views, so be kind to what your fellow man thinks and express your own idea's. Were not comparing our team to the Messi's, Xavi's and Ronaldo's of this world. Just rating out of 10 for Newcastle United FC from past experience and your expectations of these players for 11/12:

Krul is better than Forster by miles and miles and miles....mentions the clean sheet but nothing of the several clangers in a less competitive league ... Also Krul has two international caps

Harper - 6: On the decline, has let in some very poor goals. Not howler-prone but there has been so many goals scored against him I thought he should have done better with. He's simply not quick enough anymore and shouldn't be first choice keeper.

Krul - 7: Couple of howlers, but is a young keeper and has generally been very reliable when called upon. Should get first choice next season IMO.

Forster - N/A: Haven't seen the lad play enough.

Simpson - 6: Certainly nowhere near as bad as some people claim him to be, he is a young and able player. He backs off too much but if he can stop affording other players too much respect he will improve no end.

Perch - 3: Not good enough at this level, simple as.

RTaylor - 4: Is generally only useful for his set piece ability, but his performance on set pieces against Chelsea alone deducts a point from him. He should have been made to pay back his ****ing wages for that week.

STaylor - 6: Great contribution in terms of goals from set pieces, he seems to just know where to be during a goalmouth melee. Still got my reservations about his defending though.

Colo - 9: One of our standout players this season, he's really come good, and stuck with us during our season in the Championship. Legend.

Williamson - 6: Decent, nothing more. Pace is poor, and can look out of his depth sopmetimes. Like him though, he just gets on with it.

Enrique - 8.5: We've got Zidane at left back.

Ferguson - 7: Only had a couple of outings but has shown enough to convince us that he's a worthy talent and one worth keeping. Expect to see a lot more appearances from him next year. Needs to beef up a bit though.

Barton - 8: Has done a good job wherever he's been put, even though he spent much of his season out of position. Performances suffered after Carroll left, but he recovered it somewhat towards the very end of the season.

Nolan - 7: Only gets this score for his goalscoring and dressing room contributions, otherwise he gets a 3. A passenger in the first two thirds of the field, no pace, no dribbling skill, not a great passer. Not great for a supposed box to box midfielder. Can just about be carried in the support striker role due to his poaching ability but there are far better options out there to be sure.

Tiote - 9: One of the best surprises in the whole league, no-one knew who he was when he came and he made the defensive midfield position his own. Got a problem with bookings, but a lot of them were bullshit prejudicial decisions by inept referees.

Cabaye - N/A: Hopefully at least a 7 next season!

Guthrie - 6: Pretty average really, I don't mind the kid. Gets a lot of grief but can do a job.

Jonas - 6.5: Runs a lot, works hard, but isn't blessed with great ability at anything else apart from drawing fouls. That was great when we had the pikey heading them in but slightly less useful now. Need to see more from him this coming season, it's make-or-break for him. Love him for staying with us during the dark Championship days though and appreciate his efforts on that front.

Ben Arfa - N/A: 8 on the couple of games he played but need to see how he sustains it over a full season. Can't wait to see him playing regular for us, we haven't seen his sort of skill here since the first Keegan days.

Shola - 5: ****e, but can't imagine him being ****e for any other team than us. Shola, why do I love you so? Club Legend!

Lovenkrands - 4: Championship or SPL is his level, he's generally struggled this season.

Best - 7: Is more than able of doing a job and has shown this through his goals and general play. Didn't get enough chances for me, the only striker on our books we should really be looking to keep.

Ranger - 3: Couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo and has one of the worst attitudes I've ever seen. "Gangsta first, footballer second"? **** off then.
