Rasmus Elm. Will he fit in?

Hello Reds fans, my first post here, though I was a regular on the old 606.

It seems as though we're close to capturing AZ Alkmaar's Swedish player Rasmus Elm, where will he fit in with the return of Lucas Leiva and with Steven Gerrard, Charlie Adam, Aquilani to return and the likes of Spearing and Shelvey knocking about? Personally I think the sale of Aquilani and maybe Adam will pave the way for him. Is he good enough? Anybody know?

 

There are a few articles saying that we are interested in him and 1 of them The *** say that we have agreed a 8 million£ with a 5 year contract

 

I seem to remember a while back his name being linked. One to keep an eye on I guess.

 

Just had a look on You tube and i know before anyone say's it "all players look good on You tube" but this Rasmus fella has got a wicked kick from set pieces

 

We're in dire need of a set piece specialist with Aurelio on his way out and Bellers usually used off the bench. We'll get a good view of him come the EURO's I'm sure.

 

If we are defo in for him we should do the deal before the Euro's as his price will go higher and other teams will join the race for his signature if he has a stormer

 

Hopefully the first of 3/4 decent signings coming our way. A move for Soldado should be done asap too, no doubt he'll be in the Spanish 23, and his price will naturally be bumped up when/if they win it.

 

It's like that every time the Euro's or the World Cup the players from the top 3 finishers there price tag increases so yes we have to do our deals ASAP

Twitter is saying it's a done deal with Kenny flying out yesterday to complete the signing.

 

Think this deal is very likely to happen despite the s** reporting it

Also think Gaston will sign too, I also fancy we have a deal for Hoilett sewn up

Can see 1or 2 coming in after that too, with a fox in the box striker perhaps the priority

Is this Elm guy any good? The youtube clip looks impressive, but that's youtube!

I've barely heard of him to be honest.

 

Just seen this impressive stat. Not bad at all for a midfielder.

The 2011-12 campaign has been a breakout one for the center midfielder. He has made 50 appearances (in all competitions), scoring 13 goals and setting up 17 more.

I DONT KNOW ANYONE! All I can do is hope that they are gems.

If I'm honest, this one doesn't really tickle me.

 

There were massive rumours we were talikng to him in January, but nothin came of it, they Alan Hansen started saying how amazin he was about 2 wks later on MOTD, I think Kenny may have let slip who hes agreed a deal with to Big Al

 

Im hoping Elm will " Branch" the gap between midfield and attack

 

I hope he grows to be a good signing.

Will he be worth the £8M it'll take to uproot him from AZ?

 

You can see it now, scores an own goal for the Manc's and the headline writers will have a field day "Nightmare on Elm street!"
Never seen the guy play but if we do buy him will pay more attention the Swedish games at the Euros

 

Perhaps we'll do well with Rasmus at the 'elm.
