Well what an eventful first half of the season it has been for us... Haven't posted in a while so thought I'd have my 2 cents worth.

Going from lower end of the table obscurity to pushing for a top 6 finish has been no coincidence. We finished the back end of last season strong and while the beginning of the season was patchy to say the least there were signs that we would turn it around. Inspired buys and loans such as Beevers, ****tu, Smith and Wood provided cover, quality and depth to positions where we had injuries and lack of players to. Now look where we are 7th goal difference keeping us out of play-offs was this where we were expected to be at the start of the season? I for one certainly didn't think so but we have lots to smile about; Henry now showing consistency, Keogh leading the line like a proper 'wall player, competition across the pitch, Trotter pulling the strings in midfield, a solid back four and a revitalised goalkeeper (bringing in maik taylor for competition maybe gave him the kick up the ass needed)

This then brings me onto our favourite discussion at the moment chris wood. A striker with soo much potential, that has bagged 11 in 19 for us, has after saying he likes to play for us, has family in London and we've had a bid accepted for him decides to move to promotion hopefuls Leicester instead. I have such mixed feelings about this; on the one hand he was never our player and never committed to the club or asked for a transfer request but on the other he's part of a tight knit group of players, is scoring for fun and with the efforts KJ and JB and the board obviously went to secure funds to land him its a biter pill to swallow. KJ is right to send him back to WBA until he puts pen to paper as we don't need disruption to our squad. I will say this I thank him for the goals and performances he's put in for us and I'm gutted to see him leave but if he doesn't want to play for us I believe KJ will find other targets that do.

we need a long term partner for Keogh in my opinion and a few names have been floating around. I heard Forest's McGoldrick was a potential target and Simon Church from Reading http://www.newsatden.co.uk/10779-exclusive-royals-striker-tops-millwalls-list-to-replace-wood.html both of which I feel could do well at this level.

Who would you like to see at the den Beavon, Clayton Donaldson? Cassidy? Akinfenwa? Tom Pope?

Either way we've had a great first half of the season and its Woods loss he'll be rotated at Leicester and not be the main man and providing they get promoted will be in the same position he was at WBA, wish him all the best just a shame...

Anyway I think our best bit of business it Jan will be keeping hold of our top players, if we can build around them then who knows for this season?

Like to hear your thoughts guys...
