Ok, well yesterday wasn't exactly the result we'd all been hoping for but a lot of positives to take from the game.

We started very well and for most of the game we were the better the better team the difference being, I know its already been said, Tom Ince. A very gifted played who we kept quiet for the majority of the game but 2 lapses in concentration see him finish very well. before that we should have been 2 up and on the ascendancy but poor finishing from Keogh and a save off the line from ****tu's header prevented us from taking the lead. Blackpool are my dark horses for promotion this season and if we play how we did for most of the game I'm really excited about this season.

When we played the ball along the floor we caused them problems, in particular James Henry looks sharp and up for it delivered some great balls into the box and linked up well with Andy Keogh. Scott Malone looks a good player but not as LM he looked much more comfortable coming from deep and providing the overlap for Feeney who also impressed me. Lowry is a great young prospect for us and its good to see he can operate at LB as well as CB definitely one to watch.

Jack Smith again looked good and has taken Dunne's spot because of this, looked shaky after we conceded but has improved and I have never been one of his biggest fans but he gave it his all and done well, just hope the injury isn't too serious. Ward looked fit very cool and composed and ****tu did well considering he only started training recently and to think that's probably our second string CB pairing they did well.

Wright looked good, obviously a much better passer and finisher than Jimmy Abdou, and I'm looking forward to seeing him grow as the season goes on, my only concern is can he take the game by the scruff if we're being overrun in the middle of the park?

Keogh caused them problems all day and if we are to have a successful campaign, he will play an integral part. Henderson did a job but it forced a lot of long ball which isn't our game and frustrated not only me but the rest of the fans, its apparent we need a striker to partner Keogh, Kane played for Spurs yesterday and they haven't signed anyone so I doubt he's the answer but unless Batt or N'Guessan (who I'd like to see feature) can work well with Keogh then I think we'll be light up to.

This then brings me to our captain for the day Liam Trotter. Quiet for long periods of the game, but he'd then pop out of nowhere with a solid tackle or a cute pass or two, its clear he's probably one of our more talented players in our squad, I'd just like to see him have a little bit more urgency in his game. Not sure if transfer speculation has got him preoccupied but he did say that playing for Millwall was his priority, maybe giving him the status of vice-captain has been a way of appeasing him but I don't think he's vocal enough to command players how Robbo does, or Ward would? All I know is if he does leave a replacement would have to be signed at all costs. His contract doesn't run out for a while as well so I don't want us to be held to ransom over the fee, what do you think would be a reasonable fee?

I was surprised Taylor was left out the squad, all pre-season him and Malone seemed to link up well, its clear he's got goals in him so his omission from the squad was slightly strange.

Overall I'm quietly confident we will be OK this season, I would like to see one maybe two signings, Marquis will be one for the future so could maybe do with 6 months out on loan? Who would you like to see at the club?

Personally I think Matt Tubbs, Billy Clarke, Stuart Beavon, Brett Pitman would all be a decent addition up top? Also heard the Jimmy Bullard is looking for a new team would he be worth looking at?

This is probably going to be one of the toughest Championship seasons although I feel we are in a much stronger position than last year year?

In pre-season all the pundits were giving Taylor rave reviews and he was dropped couldnt believe it,,,ALSO Kenny has this strange thing about we will see where we are after 12 games <doh> we need a goal poacher and we need him NOW.
PRE SEASON WENT WELL for Taylor,Batt, and Marquis, but none of them played,,,,,whats the point of that ?

Yes, I don't know why KJ didn't use the 3rd substitution. At 2-0 down Batt would have given us an option up front with Keogh.

We were linked with Le Fondre could have had him cheap but no,,,,scored a premiership goal yesterday albeit a penalty, Jackett was after Beavon offered 200k then we hear no more he scored again yesterday, why wont he take a chance on these players <yikes> he is probably waiting for the loan window to open i guess and by then if we dont get any results all the confidence we finished last season with will be ****ed...i am fed up with this bollox and same old crap, Batt scored goals pre season,Taylor scored goals pre season and Marquis, and yet none of them played.play them while their confidence is high.
Couldnt have done any ****ing worse could they ?

Well he took a 500k chance on mcquoid and that didn't exactly go to plan, who knows whether le fondre was ever in our price range or even would have joined us.

It's frustrating as years ago it was clear Rhodes was a great player could we have got him if we had put in a massive offer? Maybe, could we get him now? Absolutely no chance! :D

does make you wild though. blackpool played the off side trap all through the game was perfect for Batt to waltz past them with his speed. and we lost just about everything that went high in their box. Maybe Taylor running through them might have changed things i dont know. but surely if you constantly play the same game and keep getting caught out you have to change things,
