Not exactly double barrelled, but the first time I signed on I was in the queue behind a bit of a scruffy looking bastard. Then they called his name. First name called out was Mr. "Battle", then his surname "of Hastings 1066". I **** you not.

Sometimes double barrelling should be done.

I know somebody who's first name was the same as her partner's surname. They got married. She changed her name. Now her first name and surname are the same.

i knew of a kid called nicholas bott. all was well in his world until the day he started big school.

I worked with a lad who changed his name by deed poll because he hated his father. He was called Wayne and he switched his surname to his mother's maiden name...
Swayne. <doh>

One of the nurses in the Mac unit at Scarborough Hospital is called Cherry Pye......,..( actually spelt cherry )

It's her married name ..I bet she thought the man she met who became her husband was taking the piss when they first met .

She was a lovely nurse *

( i say was because she took early retirement for some reason )
