I see they're still doing the old "if you want to read more, buy the HDM" thing. now, I never was a big fan of them, but I'm always curious about what Swanny comes up with.. Read more from Swanny in today's Mail - including why defensive options have been key to City's success. Perhaps you would like to explain how I can acquire a copy of the HDM to read what Peter Swan has to say? This tactic is somewhat short-sighted and rather pathetic. Either print the whole article on the website or don't bother with just trailers and previews. I'm not expecting a reasoned and credible argument from yourselves why you persist in this, its been going for at least 5 years that I know of, and this does you no credit. However, I will wait to hear what reasoning you concoct to pass this off. I shan't hold my breath on this one. Rant over.
If you could read everything online no one would buy the paper, it will probably go online within a few days, or if you e-mail Phil Buckingham then he might send you a copy. It's completely understandable and they're far from the only media outlet who do it.
I don't think their sales would drop, nowadays it's all down to preference whether you like reading off a screen or prefer an actual paper. I'm sure pretty much all news of any worth is available online.
Surely you're not alone and thousands around the world would like to catch up on the news from home. Simple solution - have an online subscription option to view all content.
Keep me informed as I live in Australia so have no chance of buying the paper to read all the articles.
With the HDM alot of it is just guess work. Phil Buckingham especially is well down the pecking order when it comes to exclusives. Burnsys long standing relationship with Steve Bruce gets him far more information. For those who dont know it goes back to there Sheffield days.
Youre really wrong there Im afraid. Burns and Humberside have bitched all season about Buckingham's close relationship with Bruce seemingly giving the HDM favouritism.
Why should they care about people outside the Hull area? I'm sure that there are a few, such as yourself, who are interested in reading articles - but nowhere near a number that is of any significance to them. They aren't a charity, you can't expect them to change marketing/distribution plans just for you.
The point I am making is that I'm penalised from reading the whole article on the website because of where I happen to live. I don't think that's fair or right.
I kind of agree, whats the point of writing an online article, just to end it on a cliffhanger... People outside Hull should be able to get a subscription for the exact same price as the paper sent digitally to their inboxes on their email.
No you're not. The website content is exactly the same wherever you live. The difference is the availability of a product which it recommends in your area (i.e. the newspaper). Just because I can go on the website of various American Food products, doesn't mean that they are acting unfairly by not selling them in the UK.
I can just about stomach the articles on that site but the comments underneath are one big in-bred ****fest.
