Worth a thread of its own on here for a couple of reasons - it explains the mindset of the small group of our fans who still support Duchatelet - the spreadsheet is more important than the team on the pitch - even though the spreadsheet shows the Idiot is badly failing - the lack of ambition - the human Pork Scratching claims that Charlton fans wanting a decent striker are showing "a sense of entitlement " - the sheer defeatism - mid table in League One is acceptable because we have no right to challenge for promotion. Seriously Red's comments are typically verbose & convoluted, but still worth reading below...
Unsustainable shrinking I'd call it. On another thread is a list of quality players we've sold in order to barely balance the books, now we've got KR spotted at Maidenhead scouting a striker, and scratching around for a loanee. TBF, even Reams isn't as deluded as SR in this respect.
The game was at Fylde and the rumour came from a Twitter account that has linked us to Torpey, Akinde, Agard, and a number of other strikers. This Twitter account has about 200 followers.
I love the way SR says that this season's target is top 6 and that we are one point away from 7th ... so we are one point away from a failed season is that right?
So Gobinson is going all the way to Blackpool (on a mid-week) to watch a striker in a non-league game rather than trust his scout?? Are we sure?
I must admit, "lets see how the next game pans out" is a variation on "lets see what happens on Saturday" I actually wonder sometimes if he is a WUM ? Being a loyal football fan is surely all about hope and ambition - SR actually doesn't want our already as tight-as-arseholes owner to spend any money !
I love SR's comment about signing players for money being a "gamble" Just imagine the scene at Old Trafford... Mourinho: "Mr Glazer, I need you to buy me Lukaku to win us the Premier League" Glazer: "Just looked at my spreadsheet and the answer is 'no' - you can have Lee Novak though"
The bloke is a f****** moron, he would probably make a stat as an excuse for his old woman shagging another geezer.
That "sense of entitlement" mantra is at the very top of the list of things I don't miss about ITTV. According to some over there, any Charlton fan who dares to say things should be better than they are has a sense of entitlement. Every day I had to put up with that crap. I am grateful for being reminded how much it used to wind me up, and how relieved I am that I'm well out of it.
The good old days when Donald, van Gerwen and me were on board, the insults that were flying around were fantastic!
I've stopped reading his posts as there is no rationale when you change your goals/targets bi-annually. That's called 'making excuses'.
Exactly. Particularly as he has turned a full circle after his speech in Woolwich. A very strange man, he had inboxed me three times about meeting for a discussion about our situation, each time I put a date to him, one time going to an away he was scheduled to attend. Each time he did not reply to my accepting his invitation.
Nice try Ronnie I was against Duchatelet from the first day his sellotaped brown shoes set foot in the Valley As for "doing nothing" - on the pitch at the Stoke game in 1984 You were probably p1ssed in the pub
