STORY​

The Cold War. The Soviet Union versus the Western bloc. A landscape of diverging politics, nuclear and space technology races, and incredible enhancements in weaponry, setting the scene for some of the greatest betrayals and subterfuge ever witnessed. British Intelligence Officers, from some of the finest backgrounds and educations in the land, flipped, and started feeding the Russian secret service prized information. Not knowing who to trust, amidst a whirlwind of accusations, leaked documents and conflicting objectives, MI5 and MI6 is thrown into a civil war, and must seek to root out the enemy within...​

Game Mechanics
• The game will run on 24 hour rounds. Start time is whenever I finish this thread, but first vote will take effect 9pm Saturday, and each day vote after will finish at 9pm each day.
• Roles will be randomly assigned. Roles will be passed to participant by Forum PM System.
• ONLY KGB can communicate privately, no other private communication between participants is allowed. KGB can strategize via pm as much as they wish and communicate findings
• Role specific actions are communicated to games master by PM up to 9pm each night, you miss the time you don’t get your action
• Public forum is used to vote IN BOLD for who will be shot as a spy. Accusations, discussions and all sorts are permitted. Vote changing and rechanging is perfectly fine. A simple majority vote is required for elimination. 2 votes is enough even in round one.
• Once a participant is shot they get ONE free eulogy post where they can say I told you so and no more. Do not post any game related comments to influence the play
• Messing about will make you sick, there is radiation sickness going about. If you catch radiation sickness you lose your vote in the following round but luckily the drugs in the Western block can cure you after 24 hours. Be warned. Decisions of why you got it are the games masters decision and final.
• Posts that hurt the game will be deleted
• Win conditions are:
o KGB win when KGB numbers = BI numbers
o BI win when all KGB are wiped out.

Order In Which Actions Are Carried Out

1. Whoever is suspected of being a KGB Spy (most votes) will be taken outside into a suitable moonlit deserted London street, and shot.
2. Philby's orders will take effect.
3. Gordievsky's target will be assassinated, unless they are being protected.
4. Macleod's dirty information is doled out to an MI6 agent, if they've chosen the right person.
5. The MI6 agents/Anthony Blunt (KGB) sitting in their cars staking out places of interest will find things out.
6. The morning newspaper will be published outlining what’s gone on.

Notes:
1. Execution (by voting) takes priority over all other actions, if you are killed (by getting the highest number of votes that night), you're out. Protection powers can save someone from the public vote now, but at the cost of looking suspicious... Also, if a player is protected, that counts as one method of salvation. Ie if you are nominated for death by public vote AND someone attempts to assassinate you, no matter if someone is protecting you, you will die.
2. Only Philby can convert or kill for the KGB. If he is killed both options are lost.
3. If you are killed, you can send me (via PM) a letter of retribution for being killed in the game, which will make the paper.
4. Investigators:
a. If investigated by MI6 agents, Philby will be reported as Philby, as will Anthony Blunt and Maclean. The others will simply be reported as KGB.
b. MI5 officers and Gordievsky will be simply reported as BI or (MI 5). Lyalin will be called out as Lyalin, and MI6 agents will be called out as MI6 agents.
c. Be warned; if Maclean is in effect you will see BI or KGB, or perhaps even a named character.
