What is this obsession with the big Glasgow 2 trying to join the English league? Good grief you want independence but want the "riches" of English football. Now Rangers want to buy Bury, leave poor Bury alone we don't want another proud true fans club moving away aka Wimbeldon style

I hope they never play in England. Its bad enough having Cardiff and Swansea.

How disrespectful are Rangers being to Bury as a whole. The club, the fans, people and players

Making them out to be something that doesnt matter and they are just collateral damage to saving Rangers

... but you are not playing in the welsh league. Personally i dont have a huge problem, but i can understand why some would. You are welsh and in the english league.

There is no English league, we are founding members of the third tier of football together with Norwich and QPR. You don't understand, try a history lesson before posting uninformed junk like the moderator above

Don't really see how Proud's in the wrong saying that. Personally, I don't care, but valleyswan you must be aware that there are English AND Welsh leagues, and you play in the English league. No-one is disputing Swansea and Cardiff have been there since the early days, and it's not unique to England (Berwick Rangers and Monaco come to mind) but it is still a bit weird when you think about it. Cardiff and Swansea should be the Rangers and Celtic of Wales with Europe every season. So if anything, I would have thought the fans of those clubs would begrudge it more that the English fans - although it wouldn't be much fun playing against semi-pros each and every season.

So a league system set up 20 years ago where Cardiff, Swansea & Wrexham and others have never played ever should now be the place where professional sides should play. It would bankrupt the sides playing amateur teams. Face it they are in the league system as that system is made up of welsh and english sides, nowhere does it say it's the English leagues anywhere

You do realise that Wales ain't a country, the same as England ;) but as the league was set up with teams from both your argument sort of falls down

I'm surprised a swans fan is on here reading this! To be fair I think the welsh teams were in this league before the welsh FA existed and anyway we are more or less the same country with Glamorgan playing in the English AND WELSH cricket league for example. Scotland is different, had Rangers and Celtic applied yonks ago I wouldn't care less, but they didn't and it's not fair on other teams if they did. Anyway I like Wales, makes England look sunny!!!

Hopefully, Proud Fox means, the English league should be for English teams, not Welsh (and Scottish). I mean, how would the Taffs feel if Wimbledon had applied to join the Welsh league when they went belly up? Too much colonial interference with England, "England for the English" should be our motto.:1980_boogie_down:

Am really surprised that the Scottish FA would allow Rangers to do this - remember all of the bitchiness about having an Olympic team of British players and how it would affect their independence with UEFA?

How will having one of their biggest sides in the English League not affect that?

I don't have a problem with Cardiff, Swansea & Wrexham playing in these respective league's....Though I would imagine those teams in the league of wales would laugh all the way to their respective banks if the BIG two & a half (No disrespect to Bluebirds or Redbirds/breasts fans) decided to play in Wales. I think Swansea have been a breath of fresh air in the Prem up to now, just hope they can replicate the style BR had them playing next season ? I remember & miss "The Home Championship " Matches, thought they were good for the BRITISH game as a whole ! As for Rangers "Get Out Of Jail " ploy,if true, it stinks !

Welsh are a bit like the Scots (not quite as bad I grant you). They want to pick and choose which bits of independence suits them.

Cake and eat it an' all that.
