Its the right result for football plus the best result for Rangers. They can rebuild now over 3 years whilst still probably getting promoted. If they'd been placed in division 1 it's unlikely they'd go straight up and that wouldve brought huge pressure, plus the next season they'd proably be ****e in the Prem.

Imagine Rangers fans at some of these grounds that usually hold 250. It'll be mental! Must be great for the fans too who usually only see the same 15 grounds.

Get in. Glad the votes sent out the message to Newco Rangers. As for Celtic.......

They would anyway imo. Its actually worked out very well for the SPL now. There are at least 6 teams that have a chance of 2nd place in the SPL which is a CL spot. ***2nd place in the SPL is the new First place.***

As for Newco Rangers they got what they deserved and wanted anyway. Harsh lessons learned north of the border indeed. Queens Park v. Rangers is now the top Glasgow derby next season. Divn.3 chairman will be rubbing there hands with glee. All divn.3 grounds will be filled twice a season at least now. 3000 capacity tops as most resemble North Ferriby type grounds. Queens Park for those who dont know play @ Hampden Park.

I'm glad they've enforced this. Why should they suffer less than Gretna, Aidrieonians or Livingston?

the sfa still have a say and there might be a lightning quick formation of spl div2 to protect tv and sponsor income.

But it might put other PL in administration. It's not like us getting relegated, the league moved on. But up north it's a different kettle of fish.

The SPL just got more boring...

Edit:- Even more boring than it already was. At least you could have the choice of either Rangers or Celtic to win the League. Now it's just a one way street <doh>

Weeks ago it was reported that if Rangers weren't in Div 1, sky would pull the plug on their TV rights contract.

It won't be long before the likes of Celtic and Rangers are 'invited' to the Premier League, the reason being that Scottish football is a completely imbalanced shambles. The Eggchasers already bring in teams from other countries, I believe one of the teams was playing Perpignan in France the other day. From what I've heard a lot of Scots follow teams from other countries in any case.

Not a chance, it's not our fault that Scottish football is ****ed and there's no desire to see the sweaties coming south of the border.

its good news all round really , Putting Rangers in lge 3 will distribute TV money , interest and gate receipts through each division each season ....
    Also integrity is retained
Gotta feel a bit sorry for the clubs relegated into the 3rd when Rangers get promoted out of it though , They would be the only ones likely to miss out :/

also if a national league cannot operate without one club at the top then maybe its time for the whole league to lower its aspirations to a level similar to in Wales .
It might just be the season the SPL grows up

If it ever happens that they join the english league any higher than the conference then I'll never watch another game again. How could they possibly justify it when a double european cup winner in the last 30 years is playing in what is the second division?

you're wrong. there are 72 football league clubs that won't have rangers or celtic jumping into the pl plus at least a dozen pl clubs, probably more. it is not in the interests of any english club.

It would be really interesting to see what happened if Celtic had the league title more or less wrapped up by Christmas, and Rangers didn't look completely convincing in Division 3.

That would really get Celtic thinking. Can they afford to have no competition for so long, especially if it looks like Rangers might not come straight back to challenge?

To be fair, Rangers should **** this division and the second division. Some double figure score lines perhaps.

I know its a semi pro league but does anyone know what standard we are talking? Conference North/South? Northern Premier, al la North Ferriby?
