QPR are ready to launch a new £5m bid for Ashley Williams in the January transfer window â despite the defender's new three-year contract with Swansea. Neil Warnock is desperate to shore up a backline missing Danny Gabbidon for tomorrowâs home clash with Blackburn, while Matt Connolly is likewise a âdoubtâ, according to the Hoops boss. Rangers were punished 6-0 two weeks ago at Fulham when both were injured on a bad day where they also missed suspended left-back Armand Traore â the main reason for the shock drubbing, according to Warnock. Traore is available after his one-match ban, but Fitz Hall is required to soldier on in the centre of defence, even with a tender hamstring. âWeâve not got a lot of choice,â said Warnock. âDannyâs no chance, and Matt is a bit better, but he is also a doubt.â QPR had a stab at getting Williams in the summer, with the Rs boss a fervent admirer of the player yet to miss a match in three seasons. The team that came up with Rangers from the Championship will fight tooth-and-nail to hang on to their man. But Warnock has the financial muscle lacking in the summer when he first went for the Wales international. Rangers also came close to signing Spurs defender Sebastien Bassong on transfer deadline day â and if Swansea play hardball over Williams â a return for the out-of-favour Cameroon international is second on the managerâs list
I think over the next couple of weeks they will be linked with almost every player in a certain bracket (1.5 - 10 Million). But on the other hand i wouldn't give Neil Warnock money to go to the chippy for me !! Cant see Rodgers letting this happen especially as we are tying to recruit at the back.
cant see ash wanting to go to qpr anyway, now if a big club come in for him then he may think twice, every player has a price that will be to good to turn down.

well I added it to your forum because I couldn't see any posts there in regards to it, its just idle speculation at the moment, but I don't think £5m will be enough to interest our club, so whether you believe it or not, the rags have reported it up your neck of the woods!
Who, the same rags who reported he would leave for 1 million in the summer? An actual £7-8 million offer, whoever the club, will really test HJ's/Ashley's reserve this January.
