    I see that Whyte, Scottish football's version of Jeffrey Immelt, has promised McCoist up to £12m to buy new players.

    Why is it then that nearly every player Rangers have been linked with is either a loan deal or a free transfer?

    If there are cheaper deals out there, we'll go for them. If spending money can be avoided then it saves for the future. Are you new to money? I can give you a quick tutorial in a way you'd understand if you like....

    Baz has £10, he is offered a bottle of white lightning for £2 and a packet of smokes for £4 meaning he would only have £4 left. Baz then decides to take these items for nothing, meaning he still has £10 which he can then go and buy a bag of smack with.

    Result = Fucking banging weekend.

    <laugh>

    Fair enough I'll give you that, even though your signature is utter bullshit.

    Its more like we're back into a sound financial state, going about things sensibly from now on so that we dont get into bother again and it has halfwits like you foaming at the mouth.

    If (as expected) we're given the all clear on the tax case then there will be a mass green & grey suicide pact at the Erskine Bridge. Which is nice.

    We're in a lot better nick than 6 months ago when the bank were keen to sell everyone and we had that tit Bain negotiating the deals like Alan Partridge buying a house.

    Even so, the firesale predicted by kerryfail street never happened.

    Perhaps you should go away and clean yer boxers.

    In fairness Frank was it not Bains persistance that got the Jelavic deal done??

    I do agree that Rangers are better placed now than last year though after the takeover You signed a couple of players but werent allowed to offer new deals (or attractive ones) to your existing players - and keeping your better players is better than spending loads replacing lots of players like Celtic had to last year.

    Just having a browse, and noticed the top three threads are Rangers ones with 2 of them started by your good self and the third, although started by the Phil McGobblegiver wannabe, it is dominated by your ramblings.

    Bain spent the bulk of the transfer window trying to get the price down before settling for the original asking price <doh> the guy is a complete arse and has been a disaster for us in the transfer market. While sellic get seven figures for the likes of Pearson and Beattie, we're accepting the first offer a club makes for any of our players. He should have been shot for the Hutton transfer, and should have his baws sawn off for spending a reported £1m for James Beattie.

    On your second point, since the takeover went through we've offered deals to Davis, McGregor, Papac and Whittaker. Dont you mean before the takeover? When Boyd chased the dollar at Boro <laugh> That hasnt half been a blessing in disguise for us, we're a much better side without him.

    I worded it badly - what i meant was in response to the first post on this. some of that £12m will be spent on these new deals, not just transfer fees for new players. So to criticise rangers for not going out and blowing £12m on one player is wrong. I was tryingt o point out that the money will help keep the better players at the club, where had the takeover not happened they would have left when their contracts rund down (as they woudl be offered less than they were on) or have had to be flogged before they left for free - Ala Miller

    There seems to be more threads about Rangers on the Celtic board than there is about Celtic

    Why is this?

    That's right, we need to be sensible about it. Some on follow follow want us to sign everyone, but they're idiots. If the takeover hadn't gone through we would have been in serious bother as we wouldn't be able to tie down key players or replace them. We'd be living in the hope that our youths could do the business.

    So thank **** is all I can say <laugh>
