Browsing yesterday I found a copy of Rodney Marsh's autobiography 'Priceless'.
He mentions that on 4 September 1976 Georgie Best, Bobby Moore and he played
together for the first time for Fulham, home v Bristol Rovers.
Crowd was over 21,000 and Fulham won 1-0....Best scored!
At the end of the season Rovers finished 15th in the old second division (now Championship).

Now where did you say Alfreton is?

remember beating southampton 3-2 away few seasons back with a late andy williams goal. we went 3rd in league 1.

now southampton are in the prem and will be in europe this coming season while we will be in conference playing welling and dartford.

I remember seeing Best playing for Fulham at Eastville. Was Bobby Moore with them at the same time?

Sadly not many people will be able to say they saw any England World Cup players playing... I saw Nobby Stiles turn out for Middlesboro v City at Ashton Gate and I saw Martin Peters playing for Spurs. Then it meant something...

I saw Alan Ball wear white boots for Arsenal in the early seventies - He had won a World Cup so had earned the right to wear them (not like nowadays)
