A thought just popped into my head.

Is there a written rule saying a team has to have a goal keeper?

I haven't checked the rule book but I'm assuming not as Lindegaard played on Saturday.

yes i think there has to be one player nominated that can handle the ball inside his own area but that does not meen he cant play outfield just as long as he dont handle the ball there....there have been a few teams who the keeper is the main penalty taker......

  5. A few team tried playing without a keeper in the past. The end result didn't make for good reading <doh>

'Rushy' or 'backy' keepers have to be declared before kick off.
