    Germany fall in the 4x100 relay. Stewards come on and hold blankets in front of the fallen athletes like a fallen horse at the Grand National. Surprised someone didn't come on with a shotgun.

    AND WE'RE BACK

    First league game today after promotion last year.
    Not a great start, Lost 6-3 (Note: I score our opening goal this season)

    Frankly this is a controversial result as the team we played really shouldn't be in our league, after being relegated last year Grimsby have proceeded to beg (boo-****ing-hoo) to be dropped another two leagues in order to compete. Basically they picked a league they thought they might win and asked to be dropped into it. (Imagine if a Prem club got relegated and feared they'd be relegated again, so asked to play in League 2 or the Conference)
    So they had about 5 or 6 players that are of much higher standard than our league and that really told.

    Still onto next week when we should play a team that won't walk the league.

    3rds had the result of the day.... Lost to our 4ths 5-2 <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

    tbf the 4ths had an ex-national league player (who was playing for us last season) who has dropped down to play along side his son this season. He scored 1 and his son scored the other 4 (not bad for his first ever adult game)
