An 11-year old representing Wales at table tennis. Do you ever feel your life has been wasted? (Never, ever call it ping pong.)
Wasted does not excuse poor grammar, so it doesn't count unless you use proper punctuation. Ping pong, like Pong, is a game; it was a trademark. Table tennis is a sport. The Chinese don't even have a character for pong. Those who don't play say it's meant as a compliment to the sport but it's like calling rowing Splish Splash, or horse racing Clippety Cloppety, or motor racing Vroom Vroom. You're taking the piss.
It is of interest, though I had a bunch of junior awards in swimming and judo, so I don't know how impressive it counts as. I played table tennis at school, enough for my mates and I to buy proper bats and get irked by the term "ping pong." Then we left school, signed on and started spending our dole money on Scalextric. Do not call it Scalectrix.
Judo was my thing too... Never competed outside Cheshire but the last three years before I moved to the US I used to win all my local tournaments. Probably wouldn't have stood a chance at national level though. Stopped doing Judo when moved to US couldn't find a club.
Today was the day. Last game... a point to win the league.... 2-2. A bit disappointing to end with a draw and we weren't great, but it was enough. So I'd rather have drawn today and win the league than to throw everything at it and lose.

I can't believe I stayed up late to watch a game of netball and it had nothing to do with their looks, either. The Aussies were rated #1 and England #3, so it was like City vs Liverpool. And England were in all red. But the Aussies and NZ have been in every final, so it was more like we sent a baseball team to the US.
The majority of the England team play in Oz or Nz, which have the best leagues. So its more like the Belgium football team selling all their players to the best leagues in the world rather than keeping them at home.
From the way commentators were talking, the gap seemed a lot wider. Player for player comparisons were being made and in every position the Aussies were supposedly superior. They'd destroyed all opposition, so on form they should have walked it. Maybe not so much Belgium as Switzerland.
I watched dressage in the Olympics and had a, "How the ruddy heck do they do that?" moment. This time it was the gymnastics hoop.
I agree Aus are the team when it comes to netball and this is a big upset. Think uk netball have worked out the only way they can get better is to export and exploit the best two leagues going
