Utter dogshite today, lost 3-0 away at Hull. Failed to adapt to a bouncy pitch and got done over by a good team used to playing with bounce. We also played bollocks which didn't help.
Pole dancing: Could it one day become an Olympic sport? please log in to view this image http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/41652997 I ****ing hope it does.
Why would anyone allow a sport where only one country can compete. Mind you I suppose they let the poles vault so why not let them dance
I haven't the foggiest who is in the World Series... . I don't watch network television, get my news online, and it's not a very popular sport in the South (American Football or Basketballseem to be the dominant sports here), so people don't talk about it at work. I imagine whoever Texas is against can't be worse than Texas. Texas sucks. I remember back in University, Atlanta was most people's favourite around here because it was relatively close and winning (US sports fans are like United/Chelsea fans in UK though... They tend to support whoever is winning... Not whoever they grew up supporting or local team). I would pretend to cheer for other team just to piss everyone off.
Y'all don't speak for the ENTIRE south, which Texas is part of. Tbf, I went to a few Astros games during my time in Houston, great game and the atmosphere was also great.
Sometimes Texas is considered the South, usually the South West though, or sometimes lumped in with the mid west. It's west of the Mississippi so North/South doesn't really work for Texas. I've been to one Atlanta Braves game with the Mrs. found it rather dull. Been to a couple of minor league games in a few different cities and found them more fun than the major league games.
Read up about eastern Texas(especially Vidor)and you'll see the similarities between Mississippi and Alabama etc(sad as it is), and in the State Capital building inside and out you'll be in no doubt that Texas considers itself a "southern state", on the other hand if you go to Corpus Christi or South Padre Island you'd swear you were in California.
Yeah... I bet if you walked around here and asked different people if Texas were part of the South you'd get an equal number of people saying "yes", "no", and "kinda... Depends what you're talking about"... It sort of is, and sometimes is included, but frequently it isn't included when talking about the South. Texas is so big it's basically it's own thing. It's over half the size of the true south. Historically, if you back to the war for example Texas was part of the South.
Yeah, I did the history tour of Texas while I was there, the Alamo, San Jacinta, Golliad etc but also went to a place called Washington on the Brazos, it was the first state capital and where it was voted that Texas would become an independent nation and leave Mexico, so until Texas joined the union it was a nation rather than a state. That place I mentioned(,Vidor)is like walking into the movie Mississippi Burning and still has a "whites only" policy going on, shady as **** when you go there as a stranger, eyes watching your every move.
Good win for Hamilton in the States yesterday Title is all but his now, 66 points ahead of Vettel, 75 remaining All he has to do is finish in Mexico and he wins it, since if he does that without incident he'll easily be in the top 5 which would make him Champ if Vettel wins. If Vettel is second he only needs ninth or better Should add ... no breakdowns for Hamilton all season though ... is this where the racing gods throw a twist in and make him have one and DNF ??
it was impressive. Hamilton claimed after vettel blew his chances by going to fast and cooking his tyres which maybe he can see but he cannot be sure off at all. Hamilton has been on top form and a level above the rest and deserves the win. ferrari blew it big time on car.
Deffo, Ferrari were supposed to be quickest on that track and he passed then drove away from Vettel clean with no response He's raised his level this season, especially since the Merc has often been second-best to the Ferrari, think he's driving better than ever actually
Ferrari have been flapping. the two issues thus far, then this "chassis like jelly" ****e and add in the broke up car after the other race... its in direct contrast to hamilton pumping in pole after pole and driving away.
Combination of all-round focus and raw speed innit with Hamilton and Merc, just on it But yeah Ferrari have lost their way over the last few races, Vettel doesn't have the pure pace Hamilton has either and there's always some drama within the garage / organisation Also look at the comparison to their respective team-mates. Hamilton has blown Bottas out of the water, Raikonnen is still moving over to let Vettel through
well.. in fairness that was a pure gamble yesterday so vettel should never have been behind him. I agree bottas is so far off it makes rosberg look a hero.
It's been extremely rare when Hamilton hasn't blown his teammates away. Even when he has been paired by stars like Alonso. The Ferrari may be the better car. Hamilton is just that good.
That definitely has helped his chances and influenced why he is where he is now and so close to winning despite several races still left. Usually he's not the one benefiting from mechanical misfortune of others.
Thoughts on the boxing? Got the value out of the ppv? I reckon it was good but not really an epic or anything
