In Wenger's post match reaction, he's said that Ramsey is still 2 weeks away, while Koscielny is out for a while. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20140325/wenger-on-the-draw-the-title-and-belief ****ing hell, 2 weeks ago Wenger said it's 2 weeks for Ramsey, now it's another 2 weeks, typical ****ing medical at Arsenal, an injury just drags and drags out.
Injuries.. there is something very wrong at the club. I don't doubt we have top physios and state of the art equipment so what the hell is the cause. I know people in the past have blamed Arsene's training methods but I don't know enough about it to comment. One thing is for sure and that's when our players do get injuries they seem to take longer to recover than other teams.
Training methods are likely partially to blame. Take this from van Persie for instance after he left Arsenal for Man Utd: “My bodyweight used to *always be around 77 kilos. Now I weigh 81 kilos. That is a difference of more than eight pounds – and it is all pure muscle. “I haven’t been spending more time in the gym lifting weights. I have got myself super-fit and as a result I am both heavier and stronger. “It means I am *stronger in battles with defenders, but I also feel like I am in the best condition of my life.” Van Persie added: “I also *recover faster. The week *before last, I played on Wednesday and Saturday. “There was only two-and-a-half days between the games, yet I felt super-fit and had no trouble doing extra work in the final part of the game.” He won the league for them that season. Moyes came in, and suddenly he is out injured again. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/robin-van-persie-reveals-how-1646892
I'd like to know what he did to change him training regiment. Also I think he needs to help Diaby out as he is perpetually injured.
“Arsenal has a special way to play the game so of course we want to respect that in our programme. “Arsenal’s game is based on the ball on the ground, movement, technical quality. Therefore 90 per cent of the session is based on that. “Our programme is never to add kilos to anybody, it is more to take off [weight] because contrary to the idea that people have the most important thing is the coordination; the lighter you are the more chances you have to be coordinated.” That's from Arseblog in 2011, quotes from Wenger talking to Nike's Inside Edge. I'd be interested to hear what TheBear thinks of this...
I wrote an article about this a while back. He hired an external strength and conditioning coach. Focussing on Squats, Deadlifts and Oly lifting movements. Make the body stronger, more flexible and the injuries will be less common. RVP obviously has some long term Ankle problems but the supplementary training enabled him to play over two full Seasons without any real problems. You have to wonder if Moyes has stopped him doing this now.
Thanks for the info. The chances are that Moyes has his own training regime that isn't quite working for RVP. I'm hoping to add more core exercises in my workouts, so will try and go back to squatting and some Oly movements. I've been neglecting them too much!
Ramsey's setback was caused by being rushed back too early, the circulation back to the injured tissue was inhibited and now he faces a further two or three weeks out. Unacceptable.
This is precisely what I was afraid of. We've done the same with others over the years, Jack being a prime example.
We've got a ready made new signing in some guy called Aboo Deearbee... not seen him play before though...
