Manchester United fan in peace here. First of all, I'd like to know your opinions on Ramires. As you all know the club have recently signed him. You've seen him play for a while now, so what do you actually think of him? Secondly, is he worth 17 million (Please correct me if I'm wrong)? A vulnerable question to be asked would be is he good enough to remain in your squad for the up coming years? Has he only scored 1 goal in 20 appearances ?

You might be wondering, why I haven't stated my thoughts on Ramires. There's obviously one reason. If I was to state my opinion on Ramires, it would obviously start unnecessary arguments.

Please feel free to contribute necessarily to this thread. If you're intending to cause arguments, then I'm sure the board moderators will take appropriate action.

He's improved all season, but with a full pre-season and this years experience behind him he'll be better next season without a doubt.

His goal rate isn't great, but I can't question his work rate and commitment, his first touch sometimes lets him down, and he looks very slight for the league, but I'll base him on next season, along with Torres and Luiz.

In terms of value - £17 mill for a member of the Brazil squad who went to the World Cup vs £35 mill for a Geordie pikey, 8th highest scorer in the championship last year, with bi polar and a drink problem = no brainer

I posted this on 606 way back on the 30th December and I still stand by every word!

    In Praise Of Ramires
    Premier League Chelsea

Ever since Chelsea signed Ramires from Benfica I have been thrilled to see his performances grow with every game and last nights game against a physical Bolton side was his best yet and won the plaudits of manager Carlo Ancelotti and journalists alike.

Reading over the Chelsea board this remarkable box-to-box midfield dynamo has come under some wrongful criticism from fans who have wrongly blamed him for Chelsea's pre-Christmas slump but hopefully after last nights game they will see the value of Carlo's judgement in bringing him to Chelsea.

His tireless performance was one of the best I have witnessed this season by anybody and truly believe he will grow in stature to become a Chelsea 'great'. With Ramires showing so much promise in just a few months in one of the fastest most difficult leagues in the world is nothing short of miraculous and look forward to the rest of the season seeing Chelsea retain their premier crown for the second time.

Ramires as SW6 rightly states will be better for a pre-season and a years premiership behind him. He will grow to contribute circa 10 goals a season before to long and his tireless enthusiasm dictates Chelsea's pace as in the Blackburn game. At just £17 million pounds for a Brazilian World Cup player who's name is pretty much first on the list he is exception value when consider next to the likes of Obertan & Bebe.<ok>
