He's my favourite Chelsea player thanks to that film. It's a bit like being my favourite terminal illness.

Torres returns but Ramires is ruled out
chelsea Torres returns but Ramires is ruled out

    18/10/2011
    by Richard Bowen
Fernando Torres is set to return to the Chelsea side for Wednesday’s Champions League match against Genk, but Ramires has been ruled out.

Ramires has been forced to miss the Group E game at Stamford Bridge after picking up a knee injury during the 3-1 win against Everton in which he scored the Blues’ third goal.

And the in-form midfielder’s chances of returning for Sunday’s west London derby at QPR are rated at 50-50.

David Luiz is expected to play against Genk having been rested for the Everton match while Torres, who has been serving a domestic ban, is also likely to be involved.

Torres looks certain to start in place of Didier Drogba, with manager Andre Villas-Boas keen for the Spaniard’s fitness to be maintained during his enforced lay-off from Premier League action.

“If we don’t decide on him, he will be a long time out of the game,” Villas-Boas said.

Lets hope they play Torres because he is rubbish and hates fans getting on his back.

If Ramires is only 50/50 I'd rather not risk him and have him fully fit for Arsenal tbh. He was pivotal in the corresponding fixture last season and easily our MOTM. No point in playing him if he isn't 100%. I'd rather Josh step in and be given a chance.

With Champions League as well, some of the "starters" will have to be rested. At this stage of the season with Winter and Internationals coming up it seems a tough ask to play the same XI every week. 5 games in 19 days.

Hope Ramires has recovered by this time next week, it surely can't be bad enough to rule him out for Arsenal.

Good that Torres is out as he might have a field day against us and we wouldn't want that. He still a waste of money though and its funny he went to Chelsea.

If Mikel plays we might only let in 5 or 6.

Torres is still a quality player, disagree with his critics that he is all of a sudden bad. Luckily for us it was only 3 games so he'll be back for Arsenal. With their backline and terrible line he ought to score at least once.

Right now the focus is on Genk, hugely important game and great opportunity to pull away from the pack, hopefully Valancia can do us a favour and get a point of Leverkusen.

I always enjoy home CL ties and hope we take advantage of Genk's injuries, will be good to see De Bruyne in action as well.

Fact is District the critics are correct and if you think that he has been good for Chelsea then you are wrong.
You paid £50M for Torres and how many goals in games for you? That Miss at ManU, the sending off is not the signs of a 'Quality player'.
Sometimes players work well in a system and you see the best of them (as at Liverpool) then if things change then you can understand 'dips' in form. Then sometimes players have had their best days and can no longer produce the earlier form. I think he has had his best days and most Liverpool fans will tell you the same.
Sorry but he is not the same player and seems to have lost that 'killer touch'.
If i had spent £50M and received what he has given i would be asking questions. He is not in the same class as some of the other strikers in the League.

So Villa isn't a quality player...

    Ronaldo isn't either...

IMO your anti-Chelsea views make you blinkered. Torres's miss was bad but there have been far worse.

Torres wasn't worth £50m when we bought him but he probably was 2 years prior to that.

yes but neither of the above has played about 30 games (or how many it is) and scored 1-2 goals?

Agree i really hate Chels#### and have never liked the arrogance that goes with the club and supporters but for a club that has no class you have done okay in the last 8-10 years but you will never be an Arsenal, Spurs, Manu or Liverpool.

As for blinkered? I notice you only mention one part of my Paragraph and that was the miss. Agree other players miss but they score goals regular and sadly Torres does not for Chelsea.

Torres has scored in his last two games for us and been better this season.

And I sure hope we don't become Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs, look where they are.

Not sure why you hate Chelsea, but it does make your opinion slightly skewed as is mine which makes the debate fruitless in a sense.

Then dont reply and stay on your own posts on your own board. If it's on both boards you don't need to answer if you think the debate is fruitless in a sense do you.
