Bloody up at 2.30 in the morning again, thatâs 2 nights running, my life seems full of themes at present but look, Iâm not rambling, honest Iâm not, I know it irritates some and I would hate to do that,(not bothered either way TBH). Anyway, its Thursday, 2 days before the game and you know what, Iâm quite excited about it because at the end of the day, on Saturday, I get to visit my favourite ground, meet up with some people I enjoy spending time with, yes you Les, get to sit in the sunshine for a few hours, or so that woman on the news tells me and get to watch my team. I hope Short stumps some dosh up in January, I hope Quinn gets us back on track and I genuinely hope Bruce proves us all wrong and finds the solution and leads us up the table. I hope Bramble is sold in January and never plays for us again, harsh, innocent until proven guilty, donât think so because to me he is guilty. Maybe or maybe not guilty of the charges against him but certainly guilty of allowing himself, again, to be placed in a position where he can drag my clubs name through the mud and in that position once to often for me. The scale of the crisis at the club differs depending on who you talk to but while we may disagree on scale we donât disagree on crisis. Bruce put his faith in the players he brought in, gave them an opportunity and not a bad pay packet. The club backed Bruce and provides them with every possible assistance and amenity, oh, and a good pay packet. Bruce in or out, no real interest for the next few days its the team, the players, the squad that I will be looking at. Bruce could select a team that every one of us says is wrong, donât think he will but he could, and that team will be highly paid professional footballers who are playing for my club and taking everything that my club offers, I want to see payback. If for instance I see Sess at right back I donât expect to see a fantastic display, I do however expect to see a committed display. Mind I donât expect to see him at right back but who knows what could happen. WBA are a good footballing side with a very good manager but come on, they are also below us, away from home and a team we should be going out to beat, I expect the 11 players on the field to have that mentality. I hope to see a CB pairing of Brown and OâShea and feel it could end up our settled pairing, solid, experienced and strong. I expect Richardson at LB, may not be everyone cup of tea but pace he has and you cant knock his attitude. With Bardo still out it will be Elmo at RB, again not the best but again pace and attitude, I hope. If in front of them we have Larsson and Sess we should see good wing play that assures us of quality balls into the box, it should also ensure that WBA are more concerned about defending than attacking/ In the middle pick 2 from 4 but make sure that we have two in front of them, Iâm settled now on Bendtner and Wickham who should thrive on those crosses in. So boys and girls, cant speak for you lot but for me I have absolutely no interest in the views or advice from anyone other than Sunderland fans, surely a true fan will be concentrating on their own team today. Lets get behind our team and worry about next week on Sunday, you know you want to. I know I have said all this before but Iâm afraid I will keep on banging the drum until I ware you down,or you just stop reading.
Just for you Syd â A breath of fresh air always, Sunny side up is the only way
I know it irritates some No, not me. I hope Quinn gets us back on track So do I. I genuinely hope Bruce proves us all wrong Frankly don't think it's possible. Bruce put his faith in the players he brought in And vice-versa. I do however expect to see a committed display Let's hope Stoke wasn't a one-off but it does prove that the ingredients are there. I hope to see a CB pairing of Brown and OâShea Oh, yes. I have absolutely no interest in the views or advice from anyone other than Sunderland fans No, I'm very happy to hear the views of outsiders, even the sensible one from up the road. They can put things into perspective. I will keep on banging the drum until I ware you down,or you just stop reading Keep banging. You won't wear me down as I always enjoy the read. Only sorry I rarely have the time (or intellect) to offer the response which your words deserve. Thanks again for everything you do on here.
Yeah keep up te good work Syd. I'm always interested to read what you post and I wish sometimes I could view SAFC as positively as you do!
Agree with the sentiment Syd.... I think I've finally lost faith with Bruce now, but it won't stop me wanting the 3 points! I'm afraid Elmo is nowhere near to being a PL footballer and therefore I'd give Laing a chance. I always think that the best centre halfs have some schooling at fullback.
