I mentioned about him visiting me when all this madness is over ( we both have a love of HI-FI ) not a peep since :-(
Kids! I hope none of you have to turn up at a scene like this for any of your children. My lad has a black box and drives very, very sensibly. There is a bend just outside our village that is notoriously bad for accidents and early this morning he lost his car on that wet bend, hit a 3’ tree stump and was flipped over. He’s just awaiting x-ray results for shoulder damage, but thankfully he is ok apart from that, shock and some minor cuts/bruises. When I turned up to see this, my heart fell through my stomach even though he called me so I knew he was ok.
Thinking of you mate, it's horrible when something like that happens. Thank goodness he's OK, and that no one else was hurt.
It doesn’t matter how old they get, you never stop worrying about your kids. Glad he’s ok @fatletiss .
Hey FLT, looks like an exciting morning for your lad - glad he's ok and it didn't hurt anyone else. He's done something I've never done already though which is turn your car over and be protected by things like airbags, crumple zones, good welding that sort of thing. Youngster's cars on the road are a bit safer than the old death traps that I drove for the first few years.
Glad he's ok. I did something very similar a couple of years ago. It was icy and I lost control on a bend and hit the grass verge and flipped. Very scary and I was lucky to escape without injury. It's very disconcerting to land upside down as well.
Any gastronomes out there? If you find a tin of corned beef at the back of the cupboard, labelled St Michael with an expiry date of 2005, which rattles when shaken....is it fit to eat?
Bloody hell - I know what it’s like. I went cold when I saw this picture and I’m glad he’s ok, though obviously shocked. I got a call from my then 18 year old boy after he’d gone out for a night with mates in Petersfield. “Dad - we lost the car and hit a tree. Andy’s still in the car .....” I think I must have broken all records getting up the A3 to just near Liss where the police, fire, etc led me through the woods. I knew he was ok but it doesn’t make it any easier. Luckily they all got out (even the driver who was stuck as the door was wedges against the tree) with cuts and bruises. And they hadn’t been drinking. I chatted to the police driver who said it was a notorious piece of road and they were incredibly lucky. Makes you realise how your life can change in one instant .....
A husband says to his wife "My Olympic condoms have arrived! I think I'll wear gold tonight!" The wife replies, "Why not wear silver and come second for a change?"
