Finally went to see Joker tonight. Not what I was really expecting but thought it was very good.

 

Thinking of buying a Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Vauxhall or Opel? You may be buying into the same company that owns Fiat, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Dodge, Lancia, Jeep, Maserati and Ram. For Fiat [FCA] has started merger talks with Peugeot [PSA Group], to become the fourth largest vehicle maker in the world. FCA are getting desperate to have a presence in the electrification of transport. Currently, all they have is the compliance Fiat 500 and almost nothing else. No tech, no R&D, which is why they have been so keen to merge, first with Renault, but Nissan put the brakes on that, and now PSA Group. PSA don't really need FCA, as they have plenty reasonable EV tech developed, and are pretty healthy otherwise. FCA have a CO2 credits deal with Tesla, which no doubt also allows them easier access into obtaining hardware tech. PSA would love that extra leg-up. Plus FCA have a very big presence in the USA, with the American brands. Something which PSA has been dreaming about for quite a few years now. A 50-50 partnership might be on. Makes me wonder if Renault end up mightily pissed off with Nissan, for having missed the deal:

However, there's something else involved:

Delayed rains: California receives about 90% of its annual rainfall between October 1 and April 30 each year. And this year, the rains are late.
Seasonal winds: California has winds that move from east to west, over deserts and mountains to coastal areas. That compresses the air, and the air then gets hot. And that’s fine, as long as it rains. But it’s not raining yet, so it makes the dry environment ripe for fires. And it’s humans or infrastructure who almost always start the fires, not lightning.
Climate change: “It is fair to say that everything that’s occurring today is about 3 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than it would have been if the same Santa Ana wind event were happening 100 years ago, and that’s important,” says an expert observer.
