    Hi all,

I'm a student journalist writing a piece on safe standing for S-Xpress Magazine - a university magazine in Peterborough. I was wondering whether any of you wouldn't mind just offering your thoughts on the rail seating installed at Ashton Gate?

Is it a good move? Is it something you hope will be permitted in football in future?

Any replies appreciated! Thanks for your time :)

I am quite happy with rail seats, and don't have a problem with those who want to stand

as long as those who stand don't blocked the view of others who prefer to sit down.

Although I prefer to sit these days

The aim is to bring back a brilliant atmosphere by having a place for all the singers to stand together.

Totally agree,it was nice to see all you young guns singing your heads off at Crawley, while I was sitting down quietly.

Fans already stood at Ashton Gate. If thought is not given to other dynamics e.g. price, acoustics - design fans will snub them in favour of another stand. They are just railings added to seats, they do not have magical properties.

I don't particularly care for them. I prefer to sit, probably because I'm a lazy bastard. I would never take them away from other fans though, and I can see why some fans would prefer them.

I think the experiment is one to try.

Personally I prefer to sit, but understand that some people would rather stand.

I'm proud that our club are at the forefront of this

I hope it is permitted in future, but only because the rules on terraces are ludicrous. The seating at Ashton Gate so far is just a demo. One thing I dont want to see is clubs put rail seats in the worst part of their grounds and make out its a big leap foward.

I think standing creates a better atmosphere but with 2 Arthritic knees I am grateful for my seat

The use of designated seating means that should someone want to attend a match occassionally, then they are unable to sit/stand with friends. If rail seats enable this to happen then yes they are a good thing, and surely standing in seated stadia, as Man Utd. etc experience is almost as dangerous as the old days. If people want to stand and it's safe Why Not.

I like to stand and sing and if this makes its safer then I welcome it.
